The book is like an diary that he wrote but he said it is a JOURNAL. His best friend is Rowley who is very childish and naive. Greg met Rowley a few years ago when he moved into Greg's neighborhood. Rowley's mum bought him a book calles "How to make Friends in new places", and he came to Greg's house trying all these dumb gimmicks. Greg and Rowley became friends, because he felt sorry for Rowley. Greg has two brothers, he doesn't like his brothers because the little one is like a prince for there parents. In the first lesson, Greg sits down somewhere in the room and plunk his stuff down on an old desk. A few minutes later the teacher comes in and says: I hope you all like you're sitting. Because these are your permanent seats." Greg gets stuck with Chris Hosey in front of him and Lionel James behind of him. At the end of school, Greg and Rowley were getting there stuff from the lockers , and Rowley said to Greg: "Want to come over to my house and PLAYYY ?" Greg really annoyed that and avoiding he since that. Greg often kicks out by his dad to do something sporty. But he just goes to Rowley and play video games with him. Unfortunately, they only can play car-racing games, etc. , because whenever Greg bring a game up to Rowley, his dad looks it up on some parent's Website. But his Dad not really understands the concept of Halloween. On Halloween his Dad is hiding in the bushes with a trash can full of Water. And if any teenagers pass by our driveway, he drenches them. On the Halloween Night Rowley showed op at Greg's House and wearing his costme from last year. When Greg called Rowley he told hi to wear regular clothes and not the Superman costme, but he didn't listen. After there Halloween Trip, they decided to go home. On the way, a pickup truck with many high school kids in it. They roaring down the street. A kid in the back was holding a fire extinghuisher and he opened fire. When the Truck drove away, I yelled out that we are calling the cops. The driver slammed on the brakes and he turned his truck around. Greg and Rowley run to the house of Gre's Gramma. Rowley: So the others haven't practiced everthing?

Greg: Not really, but it is Mr. Norton's fault. She always whispers everyone's lines to them from the side of the stage.

Last week Greg was with the kids alone because I've do a quiz. Greg put a snail on a stick and annoyed the kids. A woman saw this and call the headmaster. And now I've gotten into trouble, but I haven't do anything!!! He said that i disrespected the badge. I had to go to the children with the headmaster and blame them. I'm very mad at Greg for not telling the principal it was him. The story is very interesting and entertaining. The book is like a Diary but the main character Greg Heffley said it is a JOURNAL! The book is great for children between 10 and 14 years of age. The book is a novel, but there is not too much to read and there are a lot of drawings that illustrate the story and make the book more interesting for children.
