There are getting to full and need more classrooms as long as a PTO room. I know with Heyburn the PTO does so many things for the school. But a expansion is needed ASAP. We could add a wing for 5th and 6th grade. We could have lockers for them to use and have them rotate classes after meeting in a home room. If we add an additional gym onto the schools, we'd have plenty of room for PE and an easier way to rotate lunch etc. It will also allow more rooms for the younger grades. This will leave more room in the middle schools and leave more money for upgrading the High School rather than creating a whole new school which may cost more(I'd love to see the prices of our options for our school bond)
I think most parents wouldn't mind their children staying in Elementary Schools longer and having more time to run off energy during recesses.
