         <description><![CDATA[<div>1. They were not able to vote until 1920<br>2.They were not promised equal pay to men until the 1960's and there is still a wage gap<br>3. 42% of working women say they have been discriminated against in the work place&nbsp;<br>4. The number one way women say they are discriminated against is pay. One in four women say they earn less than a man for doing the same job.<br>5. Until the 1970s, married women were issued credit cards in their husband’s name, not theirs.<br>6. Women were not hired for some jobs like police officers, firefighters, bus drivers and factory workers. This began to change during World War II.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>1. Women in the developing world are often denied opportunities for education. Lack of education decreases family income, reduces health, puts women at risk of trafficking, and limits the economic advancement of entire countries.<br>2. Women in America are more likely to be poor than men. Over half of the 37 million Americans living in poverty today are women. And women in America are further behind than women in other countries.<br>3. Women earned on average $.80 to every $1 earned by men for annual earnings.&nbsp; Weekly earnings for women in full time management occupations was $1,027, compared to $1, 420&nbsp; for men.<br>4. According to the National Crime Victimization Survey, 232,960 women in the U.S. are raped or sexually assaulted each year. That’s more than 600 women every day. &nbsp; According to the National Center for Injury Prevention and Control, women experience about 4.8 million intimate partner-related physical assaults and rapes every year.&nbsp; Less than 20 percent of these women sought medical treatment following an injury.<br>5.Women currently make up more than half the population in the US, but they’re represented by a Congress made up of 80 percent men.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Planned Parenthood advocates for women in the United States.&nbsp; Margaret Sanger opened the first birth control clinic in the U.S. in 1916. Sanger founded the American Birth Control League in 1921, which changed its name to Planned Parenthood in 1942. Planned Parenthood focuses mainly on providing safe abortions, birth control, and healthcare equity for women. They also focus on the issues of attacks on planned parenthood, sex ed, sexual assault, state attacks, and voting rights. Their mission is to continue to fight President Trump and others on keeping these rights for women and to provide these services to women.</div>]]></description>
