    * In some cases, we don't spend time to think about ourselves, about our position as a researcher, as an "extractor", 

    * NO safeguard practices put in place by institution (no real training) 

    * Doing interviews as "conversations" rather than "interviews" 

    * Trauma/grief, no place for this in the institution: we are offered 5 therapy sessions! 

    * How the institution understand "science" and "research" = doesn't take into account embodied knowledge and other methods that are not recognised as "scientific" 

    * Institutional violence: is it better after the PHD? ==> we need to have a healthy distance from the start, because things are not going to get "better".
    • Leaving might be an option
    • We can't talk about this with relatives and friends: difficult to make sense of embodied experience with plp who are not doing what we do  

    * Diff between Germany and UK academia 
    * "Radicalising" through our research, our politics change through the research 

    *Writting proposals = "Lying" to the state? / we need to "lie" to the state/institution in order to have funding, visas, etc.
