I've asked already, but I am wondering about the writing. I only really see it in Knowledge. Since CKLA seems to be on the approved list for WI, I'd like more units to finish out my year so I can be a better resource as a teacher leader next year. Is that possible? Is it ok to spread out some of the harder Skills lessons over two days, especially this year with our schedule built to a different curriculum?

What about fiction reading? The kids are begging for time to just read for fun, and I hate to say no, but I do so we can keep moving. How do you incorporate fiction, fun reading?

I have incorporated engaging videos to match the skill we are working on

(poetry unit) I am curious how/why the certain poems get selected. I know the manual includes a portion "why we chose it" but just looking for more information on the choices as many of the poems include very complex topics which require lots of discussion and prior knowledge that many students don't have.
