This meme is used to show someone (Gru) describing a plan or seemingly promising sequence of events but getting to a part where it doesn't work or something bad happens. This is because in the Despicable Me movie, Gru describes his plan only to find that part of it was vandalized stupidly by the girls.

I used this meme from Macbeth's perspective. He killed King Duncan and became the king himself, but he hit a roadblock when Lady Macduff committed suicide and he is killed by Macduff.

This meme is usually used to show someone (the skeleton) who thinks they are prepared for something (the bullet) but are not.

The skeleton is Macbeth because he thinks he is practically invincible due to the prophecy that basically instated that "no man born with the labor of a woman can harm him". The bullet is Macduff who is fully prepared and ultimately successful in killing Macbeth because he "was not born of woman".

The joke within this template is that Bart hits Homer then Homer gets revenge later on. The meme is usually used to show someone who is unsuspecting of something, and is then "hit" with that thing (possibly information, an action or a person's presence). Then the bottom half is the same, just with reversed roles to show that both involved got hurt in the end.

I adapted this meme to Macbeth by saying in the top half of the meme that Macbeth uses assassins to kill Macduff's family, but in the bottom half Macduff gets revenge on Macbeth who basically thinks he is invincible.
