these acts banned the colonies merchants from shipping goods to foreign countries and limiteds which items could be imported to the colonies and so they could not get goods or give goods.

Sugar act of 1733

Under that law, a tax was placed on the importation of sugar from the French West indies, forcing the American rum distillers to buy more costly sugar from the British West Indies and the people dont like these rules.

proclamation of 1763

Stamp act of 1765

Boston massacre of 1770

This was a protest by the American Colonists against the British government They staged the protest by boarding three ships in Boston Harbor and throwing the ships' cargo of tea overboard into the ocean.

These acts were an effort to make the colonists pay for the tea and to keep the colonists from planning other attacks. These laws stopped all trading between Boston and Britain, did not allow town meetings, gave Britain control of the colony of Massachusetts, and strengthened the Quartering Act. Since the port of Boston was closed, the trading of goods between the colonists also stopped which greatly impacted the economies of all the colonies.

french and indian war 1754-1763

It was a war of french and britain to fight for a lot of land in america to gain control but it is called the french and indian war because the native americans fought with french because the french treated them with respect but british not so nice to them.

Louisiana Purchase of 1803

In 1801 America voted for a new president Thomas Jefferson. Thomas sent Robert Livingston and James Monroe with a budget of 10 million dollars to buy New Orleans and a little bit of other land. But the french had different plans since the french are in two wars they are in debt so they offered to sell all of the louisiana territory for 15 million dollars. And so in 1803 april 30 USA doubled the amount of land they owned.

Lewis and Clark corps of discovery

In May of 1804 Lewis and Clark and the corps of discovery began their journey on the Missouri River, leaving st. louis and sailing northwest.Lewis and Clark were scared they would have fights with the tribes so they made an alliance with a native american tribe that had sacagawea. They traveled to the west coast which was a 4000 mile journey.

the oregon trail

the oregon trail is about a trail that started in missouri and headed to oregon city. This was a 2000 mile journey lasting from 1841 to 1869 going through the six states of Missouri,Kansas,Nebraska,Wyoming,Idaho,and Oregon. This journey was very difficult with many people dying to a disease called cholera and back then there was no cure and people would go from healthy to dead in a few hours and in a bad year a wagon train would lose two thirds of the people.

the indian removal act of 1830 is when the 5 indian tribes lived fine. Until America had found gold in the area and America wanted the land when they found the gold so they made a case to try and take the land the native americans were in favor so they made treaty and so if anyone signed it America got the land. No one signed it until 3 rebellious tribe members led by John Ridge signed the treaty and later when the native found out they killed them but it was too late the indian removal act was in action.

Trail of tears 1831-1850

the trail of tears is a crucial thing we did because we forced these people to move away from the place their ancestors live in to some cramped place out west. And with many tribes and people. we moved 17000 people and 4000 people died from weather ,disease ,and americans after all of this it got worse between tribes.

Missouri Compromise 1820

The Missouri Compromise of 1820 made the law that south states could not expand slavery to the other states that were bought in the Louisiana purchase and it was also meant to prevent anymore slavery issues.

Fort Sumter was the first attack that led to the war.Robert E Lee helped lead the attack where the northern soldiers were traped in fort sumter with no reasources and got bombarded with bombs no one died but this was the start of the civil war.

the sherman march to sea was a very cruel way to go to the east coast shermans solder were told to destroy every thing

in there path it was very dangerous because even if you were supporting the north they would destroy your house or crops not knowing

the emancipation proclamation freed slaves up in the north it did not effect the south because back then they had made a country of their own but this was a step towards freedom for african americans.
