These acts were an effort to make the colonists pay for the tea and to keep the colonists from planning other attacks. These laws stopped all trading between Boston and Britain, did not allow town meetings, gave Britain control of the colony of Massachusetts, and strengthened the Quartering Act. Since the port of Boston was closed, the trading of goods between the colonists also stopped which greatly impacted the economies of all the colonies.

This was a 2000 mile journey lasting from 1841 to 1869 going through the six states of Missouri,Kansas,Nebraska,Wyoming,Idaho, and Oregon. This journey was very difficult with many people dying to a disease called cholera and back then there was no cure and people would go from healthy to dead in a few hours and in a bad year a wagon train would lose two thirds of the people.
