We came to the conclusion, that Porfirio Diaz can be considered both sides depending on the individual, although, we chose to portray him as a villain. You may ask why, and that is because we believe that even though his political term brought many benefits for the country itself, it didn’t help the population as much. With this being said, we would like to establish that Diaz brought a better economy and innovation to the country, yet, he didn’t seem to focus on every social class and the population in general. His selfish objectives weren’t helpful for the community, yet it seemed to give México a better name and growth as a country.

He also promoted religious tolerance and the improvement of the court system in Mexico. Arts weren’t promoted in an extensive way such as school, but many changes through art were adapted thanks to foreign influence in the nation.

Source title:
La educación en el Porfiriato

Type of source:
Webpage

Retrieved from:
La Educación en el Porfiriato.
