We know and understand that Jesus did what he had to do in order to make sure that we had a better life to live. It is that kind of do-gooder responsibility that he over takes and executes very well, even long after he is gone. They are meant to be a simple, yet, important reminder to us to not forget about God, and his works. In regards to Father Charles believes in “elvish artifacts,” he talks about how Lord of the Rings can be considered among that path to being that we can be able to connect deeper among our faith even when we do not realize it.

He notes the “meshing of the planes” talking about how meshing can be a merging of some sort. Almost like when you are fusing two different things together, they can become one. Which can correspond to not one overshining another, but how they can both be able to shine through in the hands of God. When he talked about the elvish cloaks, Father Charles, mentioned how in Lord of the Rings, the cloaks have been able to through time and time again help the members of the fellowship ‘out of a jam’ when things get tough. Even though it is supposed to help, this particular cloak also portrays it as a source of comfort and warmth. The cloak then becomes all sorts of examples that shine through to hold more power, and have a more important matter than we think.

When the elves proceeded to give the lembas bread to both Frodo and Sam, it became a source of comfort for both of them which helped them continue further on their journey, after not going on days without having something to eat. They had the desire to eat food that they had previous thoughts and tempts to eat. It is different from how Catholics understand the Eucharist because, just like Frodo and Sam, Jesus sacrificed himself to give us food when he turned his body into bread and his blood into wine. We needed it to stay alive and healthy, without them, we cannot connect to Jesus as our Lord and Savior. He says that it relates to the mass, and is used communionly and consecrated. Father Charles states that it can still be considered as sacramental because, just as I had said, Jesus turning his body and blood into bread and wine are very much so in the relation to the faith. It possesses properties that are physical, and known but we do not understand as to where they come from.

The Horns of Rohan and the Horns of Eorl, are made out to be as a sacramental object that serves the purpose of being that they do not possess any type of elvish magic in relation to the cloak. But they do however, are human creations that are willing to provide courage, and execute away from despair and what troubles that may bring. They are known as recklessness, and defiant even when there is no instituted hope beforehand. The Horns themselves can be of a sacramental effect because they can be used to be blown aloud for all to hear.
