The graphic novel portrays multiple battles, one being within himself, showing his contemplation of surrender through his facial expressions. We are also more clearly shown his struggle against Macduff. Despite all of this his ego and overconfidence push him to refuse to yield, which causes his death at Macduff's hand. The graphic novel shortens his speech to half of the size it is in the original. Although it lacks detail in words, it captures the celebration and setting in imagery very well. The less words prove to be the biggest difference, with whole conversations being cut out, best shown after Macbeth's death, where Siward says, "Then he is dead?". In the graphic novel he or another character, Ross, didn't speak at all, let alone have a whole conversation with Malcolm. The graphic novel also shows scenes in a more understandable way as we can see characters' emotions and actions, which can help us to understand older, more complex dialects of English present in the text.
