“Most persons do not see the sun. At least they have a very superficial seeing. The sun illuminates only the eye of the man, but shines into the eye and the heart of the child. The lover of nature is he whose inward and outward senses are still truly adjusted to each other; who has retained the spirit of infancy even into the era of manhood. His intercourse with heaven and earth, becomes part of his daily food. In the presence of nature, a wild delight runs through the man…”

The image represents the awe of a child as they experience nature.

Walt Whitman's "O Me! O Life!" was a poem that possessed a very valuable message. Preaching that life is not worth living if you are not living deliberately through your "verse" was a bold claim made by Whitman, but nonetheless powerful and true. Your verse is your purpose in life. Whitman is challenging your willingness to see it through in your daily life.

I will dedicate my life to doing whatever I can to provide education to underprivileged youth.

I chose this as my verse because education is an extremely important topic to me and my family. Me and my brother were the first in the family to receive a proper education. Due to the conditions that my mother and father grew up with, they were denied the opportunity to gain knowledge the way that every single child around the world should have access to. With constantly having to move around due to war, education was never a priority. I am aware that there isn't much that I can do towards this cause to make monumental changes, however, if there is one charitable cause that I have been passionate about contributing to my entire life it has been providing education for children, and I strive to continue to provide my support, even in the smallest ways that might seem insignificant to others, for these children.
