Second reason is of Uncle Bobby. He is very polite and it clearly shows from his attitude and his deliverance of his speech. He is the best representation of his country. Hats off to Uncle Bobby. Simply the best guide EVER!

Trip: I was really excited to go to Thailand as it was my first time overseas without my parents. I was also anxious as I was afraid that I would not make more friends.

Thailand: I realised that Thailand was similar to Malaysia (other than the language). I was also very excited because I saw paddy fields that are never seen in Singapore and kinda rare in Malaysia (for me). Thailand was also interesting due to their buildings based on their culture, for example the White Temple.

Hotel: The hotel was interesting since it is De Hug hotel, and the room was also interesting as it was simple but very nice. And the best part was that my room is on level one so it is easy to go to the cafe.

Food: The food on the first day was very nice. The flight meal was mac & cheese and I even managed to eat shrimp (without realising it). For dinner, I had an amazing meal and was full until the next day.

I thought thailand is going to be very warm but it was cool and has a relaxing environment. I thought the hotel was going to be big and expensive but its just nice. I expected chiang rai to be more rural and has lesser building. I thought most of the food here is halal but there isnt much halal food here but its okay coz there is seafood. I have made alot of friends:)

Day 1
This is my third time going to Thailand but this was my first trip to a small suburb of Thailand. The culture is very interesting and the respect that people have for each other here is very admirable. I enjoy the culture and the slow lifestyle of the Thai people. I judged the trip thinking it would be a chore but I was proved wrong. The friendly tour guide was definitely another enjoyable part of the trip. The hotel is 3 stars but it was spacious comfortable and located very conveniently as it's very close to a 7-11. I enjoy the comfortable coach as well

Tribe b were assigned to the oldest age group which was 5-6 and the kids were a very friendly bunch and they took up a space in my heart. I felt that the the trip to the village really opened my eyes that even if the odds aren't in your favor . You can still have a peaceful and happy life as I saw how happy the kids were today . I hope to be able to learn more cultures in other third world countries.

Going to the SOS children village was a new experience for me. Cause it was not only my first time going to visit young children but it was my first time seeing them make it into a village. I was quite excited when I heard we were going to play with Preschoolers and the excitement continued as I watched them be polite and welcoming us.

Since we got the older ones, we could play more games with them. We played 'spoon and egg' which they cleared very fast, and 'dog and bone' which was interesting to watch as some are competitive and others not so much.

I felt happy that I got to see them happy but at the same time, a bit worried that they would get too competitive. But I was also very touched (and surprised) that one child wanted a hug from me. And I was very happy from the fact that the children were very active, it was nice to be able to interact with children that were active cause you feel satisfied if they enjoy the games that you planned and all.

I am really glad that we were able to have the opportunity to organise games for them, in which they had so much fun that the smiles never leave their faces. Just seeing the smiles on their face made my day !!! And I am sure that the rest of us gave their best efforts to make the games fun and enjoyable. While the homes we passed by in the village was actually nostalgic as it remains me of my occasional visit to malaysia.

Living in an orphanage that gives them a feeling of home. 10 kids and 1 Mother to take care of all of them. It's not easy for the people in charge there as well. As we tour the village yesterday, some of the kids were on their way home, some were doing the laundry and they were quite sensible despite not having a proper family.

First impression of day two was that it was going to be the same as day one.Little did I know, it was more exciting and fun! So what happened today was that we played captains ball and dodgeball with them. I can really see that they enjoyed the games as i can clearly see it from their expression :) However the highlight of the day was playing soccer with all the upper primary boys students. When we entered the school we saw the school first and all of us were hyped to play soccer, and we all did. The boys who played together with us joked around that it was like the match between Singapore and Thailand. It was really a tough match between us. We lost the match eventually but the most important thing is that we all have fun :) Not forgetting the great restaurant food that we had! Thanks teachers :D

I can see that they are enjoying so much because of their smiles on their face... Communicating with them got so much easier because the kids are older and some of them can understand Chinese but there is still a language barrier. Overall facilitating is quite fun.. Touring of the village... Those chickens running around and yea... They plant the fruits themselves and it looks like the Kampung In the olden days

The solution was hand gestures and Mr Bobby translating our instructions to the kids. The activities we had were volleyball, dodgeball and soccer. The kids seemed to enjoy the activities we layed our for them.
