This forum focused on migration and specifically discussed the health and well-being of migrants. As of 2022, there are currently about 2.2 million migrants, which accounts for 4.3% of the total population. Kim Na-kyung, a full-time researcher at Chonnam National University's Global Diaspora Research Institute, said that the health topic of migrants is relatively insignificant. Among health topics, health includes physical, mental, and social issues. Choi Ji-yeon, secretary general of the Gwangju Migrant Health Center, stated that the solution to this problem involves developing and implementing programs to enhance the Korean language, identifying health issues specific to different immigrant groups, and delivering appropriate services. There are approximately 20,000 migrants residing predominantly in Gwangsan-gu and Buk-gu, Gwangju. Migrants mainly work in the construction industry and manufacturing.

I thought there was nothing better than cooperating with each other to create a good society, especially in a community where we live together. I learned that the health problems of migrants also include mental health issues, and I believe it would be beneficial to provide ample assistance in managing their stress and maintaining a healthy diet. I hope that the immigrants who have settled in Korea will cultivate a positive relationship, fostering interactions that prioritize not only physical health but also mental and social well-being. It was an opportunity to view everyone living together in a society as our own people and realize the necessity of developing policies that genuinely address the needs of migrants, rather than just implementing superficial measures.
