In this video we learn that Human Resource Management (HRM) manages formal systems to handle people in an organization. There are three main roles of HR departments: operational, strategic, administrative. The first role of the HR department strategic, aligns the HR strategy with an organizations mission. Secondly, the administrative role involves record keeping and compliance. Thirdly, the operational role focuses on serving as an employee champion and managing HR activities. All together these three different roles as I've learned in Module 6 allows for a business to grow and make sure they also file legal compliance. In the real world HR ensures the equal treatment between employees and higher ups.

Looking at this diagram, we can look at ways to upgrade our communication skills in the workplace. The main role of communication in the workplace is to provide clarity, foster stronger relationships, develop commitment from employees, and encourage employees to define expectations. As I learned in Module 6: Oral communication is the verbal exchange of information, thoughts, peoples' emotions, and peoples' perceptions. An example can be speeches, presentations, conversations, and discussions. Communication can also be written. This entails e-mails, reports, and memos. Written communication includes non-verbal elements like handwriting style, word arrangement, and page layouts which greatly influences its interpretation. Electronic communication has various digital technologies to flow messages between senders and recipients.

A Better Way to Hire by Simon Sink is n interesting approach because instead of hiring based on skill level, we should hire based on values and cultural fit. It is very important to nurture our employees and foster a creative work environment where employees can grow. Sinek challenges traditional hiring practices and advocates for a relational approach in order to truly value candidates. As I learned, the best, most loyal employees are people who began from the bottom of the organizational chart and worked their way up the corporate ladder with assistance , stability and encouragement of their manager and their employer. It's extremely important to allow comfortability in any type of work environment.
