Religion is a reoccurring thematic idea throughout Brave New World and is largely seen in chapter 7. In the World State, Henry Ford can be seen in many ways as their spiritual figure, God. When Lenina is at the Reservation, she watches a community celebration that reminds her of the Solidarity Services and Ford's Day celebrations. Whether people are praising Ford or God or their ancestors, it shows the thematic idea of religion in the story. Religion holds a deeper meaning and really contrasts the two different worlds through their beliefs.
"Lenina liked the drums. Shutting her eyes she abandoned herself to their soft repeated thunder, allowed it to invade her consciousness more and more completely... It reminded her reassuringly of the synthetic noises made at Solidarity Services and Ford's Day celebrations" (Huxley 113).

Time is a thematic idea that plays a big part in the novel, Brave New World. Time can be shown through John. It started when Popé gave John the complete of works of William Shakespeare. John would get his ideas from this book that were 900 years old. This can represent time because the ideas that are in Shakespeare's works have changed over the past 900 years. This book gave John the idea to try and kill Pope in his sleep because he was in bed with Linda.
Also, John is prohibited from participating in Indian ceremonies. the time that he spends alone is detrimental to himself and he doesn't connect anywhere because the Indians do not let him participate.

Death

Death plays a large role thematically in Brave New World in many different ways. In the society that Bernard and Lenina come from they feel death is not important and does not symbolize anything. Their bodies are not considered sacred and have no true value. There are no ceremonies or mourning after death. Death is portrayed by society from a young age to have a positive connotation. Death is looked at as positive because it allows them to create phosphorus to create more people. Meanwhile the people and natives on the reservation give death a whole new meaning. Death also has a positive connotation however it is used religiously. The man is sacrificed to the Gods and it is considered an honor to die. One of the natives on the reservation says, "I ought to have been there" (Huxley 116). This quote shows how being a sacrifice is an honor and dying in that way is something they wished for. Death is shown to have more significance and meaning than in the society that Lenina and Bernard come from.

Aging

Aging is a large thematic idea of the novel and is shown in chapter 7. When Lenina meets the old woman Linda, she is highly disgusted of the way the old woman looks. In this world, people get frightened when they see an old aged person. Lenina points out to her self that she is over weight, old, wrinkly, and loose teeth. There really is no aging in this world because of all the medicine given to the people at birth. "Lenina noticed with disgust that two of her front teeth were missing. And the colors of the ones that remained... she shuddered. It was worse than the old man. So fat. And all the lines in her face, the flabbiness, the wrinkles" (page 119). This quote displays the amount of hate Lenina gives to Linda just because she is old. It is odd for her to see someone old in this world.
