This is the castle of Almeria which is called "The castle of Tabernas". This castle I visited it in Spain in the summer with my family, and I enjoyed a lot

It has Albanian origin. When Skandemberg’s  soldiers came to Italy in 1461, a settlement stopped here.

They had a problem, they were all men, they needed  women, for the solution they found there are two legends:

◾The first one tells that the soldiers raped some women from a near place: Castelnuovo.

Because during all the years from there till now there is not a good feeling between these two villages we use to say that the reason is that rape.

◾The second one tells that the soldiers gave to the people from Castelnuovo a few goats and they gave back a few women.

After five centuries  here we speak a kind of arbëreshe dialect and have many not Italian customs and dishes. ( In the album of Casalvecchio you can find some images aboutour dishes and the ARBERESHE costume our school folk grup wears.)
