Technology has made communication in Brazil much faster and more casual. Most people use WhatsApp every day, from sending memes to talking with family or even work groups. Social media also became a big part of how we express ourselves. Sometimes people prefer texting or sending voice messages instead of calling. It’s easier to stay connected, but also a bit harder to disconnect.

Online payment made life a lot easier here. With apps like Pix (a very popular instant payment system), we can send money to anyone in seconds, even to pay for small things like snacks or bus rides. But for older people or those without internet access, it can still be a challenge. Some are afraid of scams or making mistakes when transferring money online.

In Brazil, big gatherings are part of our culture, like Festas Juninas, Carnival parties, and family barbecues. During the pandemic, many of these moved online. People made “virtual parties” on Zoom or shared music on live streams. Even after that, some meetings stayed digital, especially for family members who live far away. But Brazilians still prefer in-person celebrations whenever possible.

A bit of both. Technology helps preserve traditions by sharing cultural events online, you can watch Carnival parades or folk dances from anywhere for example. It also helps new generations learn about them. But at the same time, modern trends from other countries sometimes make people lose interest in local traditions.
