Hello there! I am Teacher Kitz, and this year I have the joy of teaching the Nursery class. As someone new to the PS Curriculum, I'm thrilled to dive into new learning experiences and bring fresh ideas to my students. Last 9 November 2024, Hong Kah North held a bag 2 school event wherein our guest of honour was Senior Minister of State, Dr. Amy Khor Lean Suan. I helped man the registration booth and assisted in collecting the forms & coupons that day.

Term 4 Best Teaching & Learning Experience: Water Conservation

In this activity, we brought our water conservation lesson to life by heading outdoors. The children observed and helped collect rainwater, brainstorming ways we can reuse it to practice water conservation.

Term 3 Best Teaching & Learning Experience: Parts of a Fish

In this Discovery of the World lesson, the children had the chance to explore the different parts of a fish by touching and dissecting a real specimen. This hands-on experience enhanced their observation skills and deepened their appreciation for living things.

Term 2 Best Teaching & Learning Experience: Our Neighbourhood

In Term 2, the children were learning about their "Neighbourhood."

To make this topic more engaging and hands-on, I organised a mini excursion down the block of our center. The children had the chance to experience buying something from the mini-mart, ordering healthy food at a coffee shop, and visiting places like a clinic, barber shop, and laundromat.

Term 1 Best Teaching & Learning Experience: Stone Soup

Aligned with this term's core value: Graciousness, we held an outdoor storytelling and dramatic play session featuring the story "Stone Soup." Through this activity, the children learned about sharing and the importance of being gracious.

K2 Concert Props & Photo Booth Making

This year, I was tasked with leading the creation of a gigantic mushroom, which will be used as a photo booth by the K2s during their concert. I also assisted Teacher Eryka in finalizing the standees.
