Railroads connected the country physically and helped with communication. Technology advanced which allowed companies to hire unskilled workers for cheap labor, which caused the wealthy to continue to thrive economically as the working class suffered, therefore creating a large gap between social classes. Monopolies became popular with business tycoons success as Andrew Carnegie. The conservative federal court helped big businesses by ruling in their favor in court cases

1) steel production increased due to new methods of creation, which provided wealth to many business men who monopolized it’s creation and sold steel to make rail lines
2)railroad mogules monopolized the creation of railroads, and employed immigrants and blacks for cheap, charged high prices, and practiced vertical integration in order to consolidate wealth without having to forfeit any money to others.
3) factories increased production due to the increase in technology in the work place. More work and less money would eventually lead to the dissatisfaction of the workforce and would lead to a rise in union memberships.

The second industrial revolution in America was caused by many factors, like the development of new technologies, such as new methods for creating steel. Because of the Gold Rush in the West, new railroad technologies had to be developed, such as the Transcontinental Railroad, which connected the nation and caused it to develop at an increasing rate. Railroads allowed many Robber Barons and Captains of Industry to rise to power, due to the need for railroad tracks and also for fuel in the form of coal depositories. With the nation's increasing reliance on machinery, the value of oil also skyrocketed. These huge booms created many tycoons, who used their extreme wealth and power to create monopolies and large companies. These powerful companies sparked industrialization with their increased use in machinery.

-Railroads led by tycoons caused the increased production of steel and the need for coal shot up to run the trains. The steel factories caused the increased industrialization with the need for unskilled workers, which also consequently led to child labor. Oil companies and textile companies also started to use factory methods to mass produce and transport their goods to fuel the second industrial revolution.

the second industrial revolution was caused by the widespread expansion of railroads, oil, steel, textiles, and electricity. new sources of power such as electricity allowed for factories which split the assemblance of a product, meaning that workers did not have to be as skilled. an abundant labor supply allowed for workers to be dispensable, and businesses were able to maximize profit.
