         <description><![CDATA[<ul><li><p>Parents expect their daughter to get married and do not believe they can be self dependant.</p></li><li><p>Many Singaporeans place heavy emphasis on physical appearance, causing women to conform to unhealthy norms such as eating disorders.</p></li><li><p>Old thinking &amp; culture. Male dominant hence women are just viewed as house wives and are taught to marry rich men, stay home and provide for the family through house chores etc, leaving earning money to the man of&nbsp;the&nbsp;household</p></li><li><p>Men are believed to be breadwinners, especially in asian household where women are expected to be housewives. Stays home and cook rather than going out to work</p></li><li><p> Norms hindering women's empowerment include biases in venture capital funding, stereotypes in tech fields, and unequal access to resources. Addressing these requires systemic changes and promoting diversity in innovation ecosystems. Rigid gender roles, stereotypes reinforcing traditional expectations, and biases that affect career opportunities.
