It is about a girl who was born deaf and learns about a whale who's song can't be understood, so the girl, (Iris) does what she can to make the whale know he's not alone. It's a super captivating book, it even shows a few splashes of the whale's perspective as well! I rate it five (Out of five!) stars, and you should totally read it. <3

Salut, once more it is mademoiselle Annabel, even though this book, You Go First by Erin Entrada Kelly (Great author by the way) has nothing to do with French. (Unless you read one super specific Rabbit Hole that talks about the French word Lacrosse.) This book is about a girl named Charlotte Lockard and a boy named Ben Boxer, two competitive online Scrabble players that live super far away from each other and have barely anything in common. Both are experiencing friendship and family problems, through of which they play online Scrabble. Although I guess that winning the lottery somewhat intersects with this book. Note: Although this book recommendation probably doesn't make too much sense, it's not supposed to unless you read this book, which is a four point five out of five stars. Not bad, I must say. Also, deepest apologies for the overly long recommendation and I'm very sorry if your eyes are super tired. There was just too much to say in one little Padlet post. Have a formidable (it means great, but who likes just great, so really, just have an awesome day.) day! <3

Hi! It's Annabel again, and today I'm going to be recommending the book Jeremy Fink and the Meaning of Life by Wendy Mass, who is also the author of Candymakers, which is awesome! This book is about a boy named Jeremy Fink (and a girl: Lizzy!) Jeremy mysteriously finds a SUPER MYSTERIOUS box full of stuff from his dad that is apparently the meaning of life that was addressed to Jeremy's mom, but it read that Jeremy was supposed to open it on his thirteenth birthday! The only problem was that the box needed FOUR keys, and they had no dippity donk'n clue where they could be. That's what made them engage in a super long search to find those keys, looking at flea markets, their own houses, and an office at an office building that was private property. I rate this book five whole stars (out of five) Note: Wendy Mass=AMAZING author! Lots of books that are extremely, well, amazing! Ok, I'll stop blabbering now. Good day to you! <3

I know. Me again. Yes. WITH ANOTHER BOOK RECOMMENDATIONNN!!!! Today I am recommending the book Peacock Detectives by Carly Nugent. This book is fiction, of course, and is about a girl named Cassie, who's dad works as a teacher. She usually just solves the mysteries of where the Hudson's pet peacocks are when the go missing, because she is very good at observing things. So when something isn't right between her parents, her sister is being strange because of something called Buddhism, something else that Cassie needs to understand, and her best friend Jonas seems... different, it's Cassie's mission to solve all these new questions and mysteries and to write all about her adventure. I rate this book a four point five out of five stars!

Yup. AGAIN! Two recommendations back to back. As soon as I posted the Peacock Detectives book recommendation, I immediately started this one. This book, Fish in a Tree by Lynda Mullaly Hunt, is about a girl named Ally who's different. She always gets in trouble, seeming just terrible. But that's because she can't read. Which means she can't write. So her work never gets done. Which gets her in trouble. And in other cases as well. It seems pointless to even try, until she gets put in a class with Mr. Daniels, who seems to actually be nice. Some other people are good, too, and Ally makes some friends. In this class she is understood, and maybe she'll just find out... why. This is a super good, amazing story, and I love it! The rating is a six out of five stars. Whoops.

It is about a girl in the year 1793 trying to survive in a town where yellow fever, a really infectious disease, is everywhere. It has a really good plot that makes you want to never stop reading!

Hey! It's Annabel! But really. Ok. Serious today. This book, Fortune Falls, is about a place called... well, Fortune Falls. There, superstitions are real, and come true. Four-leaf-clovers are really lucky, breaking a mirror will cause seven years of bad luck, and where jade costs more than diamond, etc. There, people are divided into three categories: Luckies, who are lucky, Unluckies, who are unlucky, and the Undetermined. Who are undetermined. Sadie is Undetermined, although what happens to her everyday suggests that she is really unlucky. But there's a problem. It's her birthday soon. At her age, if you don't pass a certain test that determines your luck, you get sent to a boarding school because Unluckies prove to be dangerous to Luckies. But that test might cause Sadie to spend her birthday waving away everything she's ever known, unless she can turn her luck around. I rate this book a four out of five stars, because it really could be longer. I would have liked the book to have lasted me two days instead of one.

It's Annabel, with a book called When you Reach me by Rebecca Stead. This book is about a girl named Miranda who is suddenly finding mysterious messages addressed to herself. Instructions that Miranda must write a true story about her mission-and not tell anyone about it, not even her friends or her mother, who hates her job and will quit if she wins the $20,000 pyramid, a TV show that will make the family rich. Miranda tries to think that the strange messages really mean nothing, but weirdly, the sender/planter who leaves the small notes seems to know things that will happen. Basically, they can predict the future. Unfortunately, since they can, the notes say that it's her job to help save a life, which is the bigger part of it all. I rate this book a five out of five stars, it is super mysterious and fun with details that lead up to bigger things in the end. This book is like a winding staircase. You can navigate it, and you'll always be able to get to your destination.

No one else believes her that her Dad is innocent. He just isn't that kind of Dad. And to make matters worse, a gem that was robbed from a famous jewel heist winds up and her apartment. Can she prove her Dad's innocence? Or will her Dad be gone forever. I rate this book 5-5 stars because you really feel bad for the character and want to know what happens.

Hi, it's Annabel! Yup! I'm going o be recommending the book Shouting at the Rain by Lynda Mullaly Hunt. (Also author of Fish in a Tree, read that and my recommendation as well!) This book is about an orphaned girl named Delsie, who's summer friend is finally coming back to Cape Cod. However, she seems different and soon ditches her for a new, meaner girl. She still has other friends, but it's a kick in the guts. While Delsie could use the unconditional love of a parent, that won't be happening anytime soon. The only person left is her grandma, and all her neighbors that are practically like family. Soon, Delsie meets a boy named Ronan. People rumor him to be only bad, but Delsie sees that he is actually a kind soul who will stand for the right thing whenever there is wrong. Throughout the summer, Delsie and Ronan become better and better friends, and also experience a ton of surprises and other events in the process. I rate this book a six point five out of five stars! It is a super charming story, and had me itching to read it when Mrs. McPherson was about to let us independent read.

The Annabog, no, wait, sorry, the Ickabog, a book written by the one and only J.K. Rowling, also the author of the Harry Potter series. But really, who wouldn't know? This book is about the kingdom of Cornucopia, one of the wealthiest kingdoms, filled with as much as delicious food as it is with gold and happiness. The only thing that haunts the kingdom is the old legend of the Ickabog, that of which the story resurfaces and seems as real as ever when a Marshlander, a citizen of the Marshlands, the only part of Cornucopia that seems to be unable to be full of life like everywhere else, comes and tells of an Ickabog "sighting." So, the new king, Fred (The Fearless, although most certainly cowardly, vain, and selfish), embarks on a journey to the Marshlands to slay the beast. When the king is frightened to death (A figure of speech, although since this book is well, this book I have realized others may have thought differently when they read this. Whoops.) by the creature, and a dreadful accident occurs, an evil lord seizes the opportunity to curl Cornucopia to chaos. And also to become rich. I rate this book a five out of five stars, because some parts are funny, and the amount of death (not scary murders) and imprisoned people is astounding. There are also pictures in the book made by other kids around our age, so it's just really cool.

Annabel. Back. Book. Recommendation. Where. We. Used. To. Roam. All very important keywords in this... typed item. Where We Used to Roam is about a girl named Emma who has a best friend named Becca. But currently, Emma just feels a bit... "away" from the supernerd. Their interests are different, and it's like they can't communicate well anymore. So, Emma makes two new friends-Kennedy and Lucy, two eighth graders that are as equally art-lovers as she is. Soon, she notices something strange about her brother, Austin, after a football incident he had. Soon, because of what has happened, she gets sent to spend the whole two months of summer in Wyoming, with her mother's college friend. Sadie, her friend's daughter, is certainly not as nice as her mother made her out to be, and would much rather hang out with her friends than show her around. Knowing she should make some friends, she befriends Tyler, a boy. Yeah, I should have put a better description for him, but we'll stick with that. She realizes she only has two months to prepare something for Becca that'll put things right, but also only half that time for Austin to go back to being the brother Emma used to know. I rate this book five stars, because it conquers telling you about conversations that would usually be hard to say and manage.

Then another is painted. And another. And another. The town of Chokecherry is now infamous as the racist town, and a famous blogger comes to the town to post about the town, saying bad things about it. Because of that, the school starts to make a paper chain that represents all the lives lost in WWll. This book, like many of Gordon Korman's other books, are written with multiple perspectives from the kids. I rate it 5/5 stars because it definitely keeps you interested.

Hey, it's Annabel! On this fine morning at 6:40 am on a Tuesday I shall be recommending One for the Murphys, a book by Lynda Mullaly Hunt. (So many books by her, I always just come across them,) This book is about a girl named Carley, who gets placed in foster care after a terrible (non-accident?) occurred. She gets placed into a home where the residents, especially the mother, seems too... well, nice that it seems fake. But even with the overly-neat cabinets where everything is but in by size and color, Carley eventually starts to almost-love Julie Murphy, the mom she'd love to have, her husband, Jack, a Red Sox superfan, and the three boys. All different. At school, she makes an enemy into a friend, but after she finds out the truth about the foster care when Carley didn't tell her, she turns on her heels. Carley wants to stay with the family. She really does. But when some news from her real mother comes, she knows what'll happen next. DUN-DUN. DUNNNN! I rate this book a four stars out of five, because it made me cry when it probably shouldn't have. Ehhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

Annabel! AHHHHHH! Okay. Welcome to a book recommendation about the book the Egypt Game by Zilpha Keatty Snyder. The Egypt Game is about two girls who meet when their caretakers plan for them to have lunch together. At first, the two girls seem to be as alike as a pea and a poodle, April being homesick, showboating and super fancy looking, while Melanie is a much more casual-dressed who has a brother who seems to be way too mature for a child and also shares her love of ancient Egypt with April and start hanging out together. Soon, they explore near their apartment and find out a the backyard of an old antiques shop, full of "junk." However, the two girls find that the yard is actually the perfect place to host the Egypt Game, where the yard is Egypt and they make costumes, hold rituals, create their own hieroglyphics language, and make temples. After a small period of time, the group turns from two... to three... to four and finally, six. Everything seems simple until strange, "don't talk about me" things happen during their games, and the group finally starts to ask the dreaded question. Has the Egypt game gone too far? I rate this book a four out of five stars, this book is super mysterious and fun.

Hi! Annabel here! It feels like it's been a really long time since I've done a book recommendation, even though it hasn't. The book I am going to recommend today is A Pocket Full of Murder, a book by R.J. Anderson. At first, I was a bit stuck, because there were two genres, mystery and fantasy, but I decided I would just choose whatever. A Pocket Full of Murder is about a town that uses magic. Spell tablets that light lamps and light fires, to trinkets that can hide you, float you, and anything else, to finally, Sagery that can do complex things like murdering a man while nowhere near the scene. Isaveth is a Moshite (Find out if you read it) girl with three sisters and her father, who goes job and to job, scraping up when he can get. However, after the man is falsely accused of treason, murdering a lord by higher-ups, it is up to Isaveth to prove her father's innocence, along with help from a street boy called Quiz who can't turn down an adventure. On a search for clues, Isaveth starts to wonder why Quiz so eagerly helped her, and all the while fighting to keep her father from execution. I rate this book a seventeen out of five, I loved it so much (so twisty and turny, just like Quiz on his pedalcycle!) and luckily for me, the second book had been on the same shelf, right next to it. So yeah, next book recommendation coming soon.

(WARNING. THIS RECOMMENDATION MAY BE A SPOILER ALERT TO READING THE FIRST BOOK. CARRY ON AND PAY NO ATTENTION IF YOU PLAN TO READ THE BOOKS, WHICH I STRONGLY SUGGEST.) Annabel here, with the book recommendation of the sequel to A Pocket Full of Murder, this book obviously by R.J. Anderson. A Little Taste of Poison is about a girl named Isaveth who receives a scholarship to the best college in Tarreton, given to her because of her inventions she had sold to a big company that gave the scholarships. Unfortunately, as a Moshite girl, some seem against her learning the ancient art of Sagery, advanced magic that is very powerful. However, starting at the school grants her a friend and more enemies. Old and new. From all the troubles she's been having at the school, Isaveth is starting to question if her going to the school is more of a curse than the blessing it used to seem to be. Her secret meetings with her old friend, Esmond, keeps her updated and busy. Soon, he invites her to his sister, Civilla's birthday ball to investigate and prove someone guilty of murder, also the person who framed Isaveth's father of murder. But the ball ends horribly when the Sagelord, Esmond's, Eryx's, and Civilla's father has apparently gotten poisoned, which leads to something that must also be solved by the two. On top of all that, Isaveth gets kidnapped: The reason being who she got her scholarship in the first place. The pair must get the evidence to fairly punish the wrongdoers and finish what was started. I believe R.J. Anderson is a super good author, and I rate this book a seventeen out of five charms. Huh. How many strips of charm-silver would it take to make every type of charm at the college? Well, it isn't mentioned in the story. Anyways, read these wonderous books.

In the book The War That I Finally Won, the genre is realistic fiction. In the book, Ada has a lot of major changes in her life that change everything. The book takes place during WWII. It is the sequel to the war that saved my life and they are both amazing books. In the book, Ada makes lots of new friends and gets used to the fact that she lives with Mrs. Smith. In the book, Ada has a clubfoot which makes it hard to walk. She has a little brother named Jamie Who is young. Because she used to be treated so horribly she has never really seen the outside world. Then everything changes. Read the first book and this book to learn more. I would give the book 4 stars and this book isn't bad but in my opinion, the other book is better. I would recommend this book to people interested in Realistic Fiction because this is one of the best realistic fiction books I have read. It definitely had sad parts but overall it was a great book! I hope you will enjoy this book as much as I did! (EDIT: I just realized this is Anonymus just letting you know this is Tavishi)

Firstly, this must be the longest book title that I have EVER recommended. Secondly, this is Annabel here, and not anyone else. And thirdly, this book is by Erin Soderberg, and here is what it's about: When a single father (who is a super workoholic) buys a used food truck with money from a invention that his wife created before she passed, his three kids, Lucy, Herb, and Freddy Peach (Clarification: Their last name is Peach. Freddy is just Freddy, as his first name.) decide that it is the perfect way to remember their mother: a road trip in her honor, because it is what she would have done if she was still alive. But, why not make some money while at it? The food truck needs to sell something... uniquely Peach. So why not Peach pie? But other than just pie, everyone has a goal. Lucy wants to read every book on her summer reading list, Herb wants to swim every day, Freddy wants to... uhhh... whatever, find that out yourself. And Mr. Peach wants to win the Ohio food tuck fair! (The prize being TEN THOUSAND SMACKEROONIES! (Is that even a word?)) But anyways, will the road trip go as smooth as everyone hopes? OR WILL THERE BE TOO MUCH PIE? I rate this book a four-point-five out of five slices of peach pie. (I don't know why, but I still like this book even though I've never even had pie.)

Hey guys! If you didn't already know, it's Tavishi! I read the book The Medusa Plot.SO the Genre is Fiction and so is the category I'm typing this is so yeah. Anyways, what next? So I think the next thing to type is a summary. SO here we go! (Thinks for 30 seconds)Okay so in the book which is a sequel to the series(If that makes sense) basically it's a separate series but with the same characters(But a new Antagonist)This is the first book in the sequel serie(Is that a word I don't know)In the book a bunch of the Cahills get kidnapped and the main characters(Amy and Dan) have to find them. This book is 3rd person but it switches perspectives though most of it is Amy and Dan.WARNING: Read The 39 Clues first. Okay so they have to save the world again(Long story)Okay next up I would absolutely recommend this book. It also has like 3 pics but it shows me what characters look like(ANd it's amazing) I would give this book 4.9/5 stars. Bye!

Hellooo! Annabel here, with a great book called the Stars of Whistling Ridge, by Cindy Baldwin. The stars of Whistling Ridge is a book about a girl named Ivy Mae Bloom, which is only one letter away from being Ivy May Bloom. Along with her two little sisters, the youngest, Sophie, a literal (but very annoying) genius, and Elena, a soft-spoken, shy musician (At least, when she's in public) they all manage to shove themselves in a trusty RV they call Martha. They do so so their mother, a fallen star, can control the magic within the world wherever she needs, so she can also barter wishes, although wishes can be unpredictable and don't work out the way you expect them to. However, Ivy Mae is not one for the RV life and wants to have a FOREVER HOME, like their mother's star sisters do. So Ivy Mae steals her mother's entire wish "collection" and wishes for a forever home. Soon afterwards, Martha breaks down, causing them to be stranded in a small, beautiful town where their mother's sister Agatha, their aunt lives. Soon, Ivy Mae realizes this is the perfect place to settle her roots. The only problem? Something is slowly sucking all the magic out of the town, and to save it, Ivy Mae may have to leave the one place she thought could be home at last. I rate this book a 1234567876543234567. I read it like 23456765432123456 times. Just some parts clicked together like puzzle pieces, and other times it got so emotional that you could feel the rage and sadness burning through your own heart. Also, I got this at the Chatham public library, just if you wanted to know! (And MAN, is this book recommendation HUGE!)

Hello! I'm Annabel! As you know. Maybe. Today I'm going to be recommending Front Desk by Kelly Yang, based one her true, personal experiences about immigrating from China to America. Mia is an immigrant from China, along with her mom and dad. Her family has never been able to keep steady jobs and a good income, but when a job opens up at a motel, offering free employee housing and five dollars a check-in, which adds up to about one hundred fifty dollars a day. It seems too good to be true, but no one's about to turn down such an opportunity. Soon enough, she meets the Weeklies, people who live at the motel and pay weekly. They warn her that their employer, Mr. Yao, isn't what he seems. And it's true. Her parents are overworked, underpaid, (Mr. Yao made tons of excuses to pay them less) and have to pay for anything that breaks. The only thing Mia can do is to help by working the front desk. Soon, their motel room becomes a safe haven for other chinese immigrants that are in tough positions, staying until they can leave. Well, at least when Mr. Yao isn't around... At school, she gets teased about being Chinese, made fun of because of her clothes, and is bullied by meanies. Soon, when a motel competition opens up, Mia sees the perfect opportunity to turn their lives around, to finally fly off the roller coaster. I love this book and I rate it a ten out of five! It really shows the difficulty of feeling like you don't fit in, and also being an immigrant like Mia and Kek. From the beautiful cover to the things that make you want to cry, yo won't be disspointed!

Annabel! DO DOO DO DO DO DOOO! DO DO DO DO! DOD DO DO DOOOO- Oops. Yes. Sure. Focus! I am going to be recommending the book Turtle Boy by M. Evan Wolkenstien. Will is... well, a boy. People call him "Turtle Boy" because his chin looks like a turtle's. (Although Will does keep turtles at home, even though nobody know but a few.) He'll need surgery to fix it, as it could cause something called sleep apnea, which causes the following: Snoring, and also for your airway to get blocked while you sleep, causing you to jolt awake to keep breathing. The only problem is that Will is afraid of hospitals, as his father died during a surgery when he was young. So when he gets forced to do FORTY HOURS of service, after he skipped out on when he tried to do his time at a soup kitchen, he gets stuck in a hospital to be with a really sick boy named Ralph, who's real name is R.J. At first, R.J. doesn't seem to care about Will at all, but soon, they start to kind of warm up to each other. Then, after finding out that R.J. has a bucket list, Will makes it his mission to complete the list before R.J. passes, because, as it is known, it is inevitable. Although some of the items on the list seem super crazy-and super scary, Will has to do whatever he can for R.J., including facing some fears. I rate this book a four out of five turtle shells, because it was pretty good but was kinda emotional so it made me cry. OK? A LITTLE. JUST A LITTLE. I PROMISE.

Warning: This book is chaotic. Not in the, "oh my god I can't keep track of anything in here" kind of chaotic, just the events in this book are chaotic. Anyways, you've been warned. This book is by Dan Gemeinhart and is about girl nicknamed Coyote. She lives on the road with her father, kind and magical-eyed and also called Rodeo. They don't own an R.V. or a trailer, but a schoolbus they named Yager that used to be made to carry fifty seven kids. They used to have a stuck-on the ground home, but that was before the accident. The accident that killed Coyote's mom and two sisters. The accident that ripped away part of them. Both of them have no intention of going back there until Coyote is told that a park near her old home is being transformed for new houses. But that park, near the wooded, tangled corner, is where Coyote, her mom and sisters buried a memory box before they died. Coyote knows she has to go back. She needs to go back. But there's no way Rodeo will agree to such a thing, and that's why Coyote has to trick him. Along the journey, they pick up a few others... (including what may not be a non-human thing named Gladys, which I think you may be able to guess what) After all,
Yager is made to transport fifty seven kids. I rate this book a definite five out of five, some parts are just so hilarious... Sneak Peek: Coyote might have smuggles a kitten into the bus. But don't pay attention to this part. I just had to.

Annabel here! Finally recommending a book club book after unbelievably long. Rules, by Cynthia Lord is about a twelve-year old girl named Catherine who likes to draw. She has an autistic brother named David, who she tries to make "normal" by a series of rules that should help him fit in. However, that sometimes backfires. David also makes it difficult for Catherine to make friends, scaring them away before Catherine has the chance to befriend them, that also being the reason she only has one friend named Melissa. But soon, the perfect friendship opportunity comes up as a new neighbor moves in, one of the members of the family a girl her age. Things get even better for Catherine when she makes friends with Jason, a boy at therapy, where David also goes for occupational therapy. He can't talk, so he has a communication book. Making communication cards for him brings them even closer together. She finds that the new neighbor is nice and is what she dreamed of as the classic next-door-neighbor best friend she's always wanted. But soon, she wonders if both those new, shiny friendships are something she can keep. I rate this book a five out of five stars, it was really good and some of the rules were pretty funny. The ones that were repeated? You just know they were important. Goodbye!

-Me.
(Annabel)

But then, the kids learn that they have to do a musical. With no teacher. Will they be able to do it with no one finding out that they have no teacher?

Hi, Annabel here! I'd like to recommend the book James and the Giant Peach by Roald Dahl. You've probably read this book already, but if you haven't-oh, well, never mind. Here's what it's about: James has a terrible, horrible life. After his nice, pleasant parents died by zoo accident, he went to live with his horrible, cruel, arrogant, ugly, full-of-themselves, nasty, hateful, rude, mean, and any terrible word you could think of aunts. They despised the poor boy and couldn't wait to get rid of him. Then, one day, he was gifted with some magical seeds. Tragically, they fell from his grasp and into the dirt where an opportunity was apparently gone. Soon enough, however, an old peach tree (that never bore any fruit) in the aunt's small, scraggly backyard started to show that a peach, one of the most perfect, humongous pieces of fruit ever, was actually starting to grow. But it doesn't stop. It goes. And goes. And goes. And goes. And goes. And goes. And goes. And goes. The boy then befriends larger-than average bugs that seem to have made their home inside the fruit. A kind ladybug, a musical grasshopper, a talented spider, a picky centipede, a radiant glow-worm and a lazy silkworm. Soon, the friends embark on a journey inside the peach, crossing the ocean and rolling wherever gravity takes them. I rate this book a four out of five stars. It was, indeed very satisfying when the aunts **** and there was the centipede singing about his luxurious experiences with food. (I don't know exactly how the heck I was able to make such a long recommendation with such a short book?) BYE!

Annabel here, with her first ever HF book recommendation! I'll be recommending the book We Dream of Space by Erin Entrada Kelly...

It's the year 1986, and space travel is still kinda new. There is also a family: The Nelson Thomases. The family consists of two always-arguing parents and three kids: Cash, the oldest. He loves basketball, but he's better at sports than school. With a newly-broken wrist and a decreasing grade, he is in danger of failing seventh grade. AGAIN. Henry, nicknamed Pitch, loves playing Major Havoc, an arcade game. However, thanks to his strange, unreliable temper that can explode out of nowhere, he gets in trouble at school, along with girl trouble and sibling issues. Pitch's twin, Bird, (Bernadette) thinks of herself the gear that keeps the rest of the family spinning in sync. She's the best at school, but apparently that's it, because being pretty "isn't her thing". She also wants to be the first female shuttle commander, and is really into space travel. Daydreaming and looking forward to the space shuttle Challenger going into space excites her. But when tragedy strikes, and the family is changing, some for the worse and some for the better, it's unclear what will happen next. I rate this book a five out of five stars, because... well? It's SPACE!

(Some events in this book are real. The Challenger accident and all the people that lost their lives, also the cause for the accident. Sad.) Also, the cover is glittery! :)

Book recommendation again. Annabel here, recommending the book the Mysterious Benedict Society by Trenton Lee Stewart. It all starts when a mysterious, detail-lacking ad shows up in the newspaper. It only mentions mind-boggling tests and special opportunities. However, despite the staggering number of children that think themselves up for the test, only four, very talented ones make it up on top. The special opportunities they were promised aren't exactly what they expected, and the children with their newly-forged friendship embark on a serious, dangerous mission-together, their group known as the Mysterious Benedict Society.
I rate this book a five out of five stars, because it's quite long and that makes me happy that it took me five days to read instead of just two or one or three. It was also really detailed, and somehow made things like fire-engine red buckets and bald heads and pencils seem super interesting. Another fun thing was that you could take most of the tests with the main characters, Reynie, Sticky, Kate, and Constance. So, yeah. Read this book. It's quite great. (I'm also reading the Mysterious Benedict Society and the Perilous Journey, so read that, too.)

It starts when witch twins Dani and Dorian miss the bus to their magic school and get swept under the wing of soothsayer Pendragon after and incident with their aunt and them stealing a dragon's egg. Meanwhile, the princess Monica's fiance (William) has been kidnapped and imprisoned by witches. Unable to bear being without her prince, Monica sets off on an epic quest to rescue Will, only to stay with the soothsayer, the twins and a boy named Nico. Together, they set off on adventures and learn magic, everything leading up to stronger friendships and more powerful magic, saving the kingdom and Will, doing their best to defeat the evil witches even with their faces on wanted posters, because dragon egg theft is a big crime. I rate this book a four point five out of five stars because the drawings were so beautiful and... well, amazing. But there's romance. Me no likey. And sometimes the speech bubbles get me mixed up, which is why I don't read so many graphic novels. Anyways, thanks for reading. ANNABEL GO BYE BYE

Hi! This is Matty, and I would like to recommend the book War Stories by Gordon Korman. The main characters and Danny, and his great-grandfather Jacob, who was a war hero. A village in France is giving Jacob a medal for saving the village, but as the family heads to France, it is clear that someone thinks that Jacob is not a hero. As the Firestone family heads to France, they uncover shocking details about Jacob in the war. I rate this book 5-5 stars because it is really interesting to read about what life was like in the war for Jacob, and then read about the Firestones' trip to france in the next.

Hi! This is Matty, and I'd like to recommend the book I survived 9-11. This is a graphic novel. Lucas loves football more than anything in the world, except maybe his Uncle Benny. Uncle Benny isn't really his uncle, but his Dad's best friend at the Fireplace. Benny introduced football to Lucas. After Lucas gets another concussion from football, his parents take him to a concussion specialist, who says that Lucas should quit football. Devastated, Lucas sneaks into the city to meet his Uncle Benny. Surely Uncle Benny could change his Parent's mind. THe day is 9-11-21, and it is a beautiful day as Lucas heads into the city. But nothing will ever be the same after this day. I rate this book 5-5 stars because it is a really interesting graphic novel about 9-11. You feel bad for everyone in the story.

This book is all about Kenny's family, the Watsons. He has a brother named Byron, who is a juvenile delinquent. After one stunt to many ( Which involves Byron dying his hair ) the parents decide that Byron should live with their tough Grandma for the summer, and maybe the school year, to try and straighten him out.

The Wild Robot is written by Peter Brown! And this recommendation is written by me! Annabel! Yeah. Uhm. Yeah.

The wild robot is about a robot named Roz. She arrived on a wild island full of life from a wild storm that crashed the cargo ship she was traveling on. Her life began with the press of a button. However, the wildlife on the wild island doesn't exactly like Roz. To them, she's a monster. Soon, Roz weaves herself into the small world, learning the language of the animals and slowly becoming part of the island and everything on it. Slowly, slowly, she turns from a "monster" to an island legend. Slowly, slowly. She turns the island into a home. HER home. She finds friends... and even family. But she's a robot. She's not made for such living, built only to work at homes and shops and such. Soon, she wonders: will her electronic brain and metal body and sharp instincts save her, or will she fall back into the hands of her creators?

I rate this book a five out of five stars! I love the animals and their resourcefulness. I love how they help Roz in so many ways. I love how Roz helps the animals as well. I love the many amazing pieces of description. (George) CONSTANCE! (Boom crash) AND REYNIE! (*yaaayyy!*) This time, the four are to be reunited after a more then a year apart. Upon their arrival to the old familiar house of Mr. Benedict, they are sent on a perilous journey-wait no, a really long and complicated scavenger hunt made by Mr. Benedict to test each of their individual skills and talents. (Yeah, also, they weren't sent on the hunt, they kind of snuck away) However, Mr. Benedict and Number Two have, once more, been captured by Mr. Curtain. Embarking on a winding journey by boat, bike, and more boat, they find clue after clue after clue. All the better to find the two prisoners, who were captured for their knowledge of the whereabouts of a special plant with mystifying abilities. Will they be able to find Mr. Benedict and Number Two, or will this be the end of the Mysterious Benedict Society?!

I rate this book five out of five stars, just like any Trenton Lee Stewart book ever.

The main character is named Alex, and this book is mostly about him, but shows a few chapters from his brothers journey. Every year in the town of quill, there is a purge. When kids are old enough, they are sorted in three categories. Wanteds train at the top schools, and eventually become part of the Quillatary. Necessaries run the farms. And Unwanteds get killed. 13 year old Alex Stowe knows that he's unwanted. A day in the rain three years ago proves this. On the day of the purge, Alex is an unwanted, and his brother Aaron is wanted. They are devastated to be separated. Alex is super scared about being killed. But when he gets there, he realizes that you're not killed ( Phew ), you learn art, something that was considered illegal back in Quill. No one knows about this magical new land called Artime, except for fellow unwanteds. I rate this book 5/5 stars because it is interesting, and makes you not want to stop reading it!

Ada lives with her brother, Jamie and her Mam. Mam is awful to Ada. She confines Ada to her bedroom because of her Clubfoot, and mistreats her (putting it nicely) because of her clubfoot. When Jamie is shipped out of London to escape the war, Ada sneaks out to join him. When nobody wants Ada and Jamie, they are forced upon a woman named Susan Smith. Susan has lived by herself since her best friend Becky died. At first, Susan doesn't want them, but she takes a liking to them. Ada makes many friends, and learns to ride a pony, and feels free at Susans. But Ada knows in her heart that, after the war, she will have to go back and live with Mam. Will Mam come for Ada and Jamie? I rate this book 3/5 stars because the author has you feeling bad for Ada. It also has a lot of action scenes, which gets your heart pounding. They all live in the perfect town of Serenity, New Mexico, which is, well, perfect. One day Eli's best friend Randy convinces Eli to take a bike ride out of town. Eli had never been out of town, before. When they ride their bikes out of town, Eli gets really sick. The town doctor doesn't know what it is. While Eli's recovering, Randy reveals he has to move away to take care of his Grandma. After he leaves, Eli wonders why Randy hasn't emailed yet. Eli and Tori find a secret note in Randy's swimming pool. Randy is convinced that something weird is going on with this town, and he's convinced that it's because Eli got sick and he didn't. He thinks that Eli is "Special" because he got sick. At first, no one believes Randy's letter, but five kids start to investigate this, and they find shocking details that prove Serenity isn't as perfect as everybody says.

Hello! 🤗 It's Amelia, and I would like to recommend Front Desk by Kelly Yang. The main character, Mia is an immigrant from China. She lives in a one bedroom apartment with her mom and dad, but they are struggling with life in America. Suddenly an opportunity opens up at a motel. Mia and her family can sleep there and get money for working there. Mia got to do the check in at the front desk, hence the name of the book. What could go wrong? Little did they know that the owner of the motel was very unkind, but they had to listen to him because they needed the job. Could they do something to avoid having to listen to what he says ever again? Read this book to find out! This story is also important because it teaches readers about friendship and family, and how they help in hard times. It also teaches us about perseverance and how to not listen to what others say. These messages are so important and because of that, and how good the book was, I officially rate this book 5/5. This is Amelia, singing off. 😉

:) Ohhithat'sweirdI'mwierdandyeah. If you couldn't guess who this strange person was, hi it's me Annabel. I'm going to recommend the book the War That Saved My Life by Kimberly Brubaker Bradley. It is about a girl named Ada who lives with her little imp of a brother, Jamie, and evil mother. Ada has a clubfoot, and her Mam hates her. However, the perfect opportunity to escape strikes when Jamie is being shipped off to somewhere else to avoid the war... only Jamie. Oh wait, no! She sneaks away with him, finally free. Since nobody wanted them, they are forcefully settled with a woman named Susan Smith, seemingly unwanting of the children. At first, the children only like Susan for her food, and her pony, Butter, but soon the three start warming up to each other. After some time of happiness together, it seems like it might not last-too good to be true. Would the two find their way back to where they started, with their horrible Mam, or with "not-nice" Susan?

I rate this book four out of five stars. Seriously, this was amazing, but some parts like the skin ripping on Ada's foot was really... descriptive. And also I can't stop imagining crushed cockroaches balled up in paper sailing out the window and knocking someone about on the head. It also gets you hoping, and hoping, and hoping that Ada can escape Mam for the second time.

Hi! This is Matty, and I'd like to recommend Wild River by Rodman Philbrick. The main character is named Daniel. He has been selected, along with four other kids, to be part of Project: Future Leaders. The kids, along with two counselors. When the cellular phone doesn't work, the 5 kids and 2 counselors go whitewater rafting on a river, and no one knows they're there. One day Daniel wakes up to screams. The dam has collapsed! The kids make it to higher grounds in time, but the counselors do not. This story is about 5 kids who are stranded in the wilderness all by themselves. They start to get more open with each other, and form friendships. But will that be enough to get rescued? I rate this book 5-5 stars because it is suspenseful, and a real page turner.

When it comes to sports, Greg is officially retired. But when field day comes at his school, he thinks otherwise. After a rough field day, Mom makes him try out for Basketball. He doesn't think he's gonna make it, but surprisingly makes a team. I rate this book 4-5 stars because it is a very humorous book.

I would like to recommend City Spies by James Ponti because it was a really exciting, edge of your seat book. This is the second book in the series so I won't give much away. This book is about a team of spies who are actually just regular kids, the oldest being 16 and the youngest 12, who have amazing skills. In this book they work to uncover multiple mysteries, with lots of problems to overcome along the way; with the mysteries and the team. In this book you will laugh, be confused, try to find out mysteries and even maybe cry at the end. (I know I did.) Overall I rate this book a 5/5.

Hi it's Tavishi and I would like to recommend The War That Saved My Life. In the book Ada is a girl (who doesn't know her age so I can't say)that has a clubfoot. She lives with her brother Jamie who is a devil😈. Her mom though is the most evil person. ever. She doesn't even let Ada see the world. The first line in the book was "Ada get back from that window" Because apparently Ada is not allowed to talk to people. Because she has a clubfoot. She has never gone to school. Okay pause. I forgot to say when this takes place. The book takes place during WWII. Okay so Jamie is her younger brother. And Jamie is getting shipped away(In a train)to a safer village because they live in London and they are afraid that they will get bombed. But Ada who didn't even properly learn how to walk wants to sneak out with Jamie. All of a sudden Ada is on the train heading to a village. She sees someone riding a horse and wants to be like her because she can ride a horse even with a clubfoot. But she gets off the train and it seems like no one wants her. They only want Jamie. Everyone else is gone so Lady Thorton takes her to Susan Smith's house. AT first Susan doesn't seem to want them and the kids don't really seem to want to be there. Susan provides all of the things that are necessary that they never had with Mam. Including showers. Yes, they didn't even take showers with Mam. So Susan take Ada and Jamie to the doctor to make sure they are healthy and the doctor talks to Ada about her foot. He said that if they fixed the foot when Ada was a baby she could have had a good foot. She can have a surgery. But Susan can't aprove for it. Mam can. But mam didn't say yes when Ada was a baby so why would she say it now. Susan sends a letter and Spoiler alert Mam never writes back. On the other hand Ada sees that Susan has a horse and Ada is eager to hop on and start riding. It seems that everything is going great for all of them. But will an incident tear them apart?

I rate this book a 5/5 stars it is one of the best books ever and I would recommend this to anyone and everyone.
P.S I'm sorry if I spoiled it during book club

I'd like start off by saying these events are not completely accurate but they are based on true stories kind of like I Survived. Dee is the main character. He is born in Germany but is brought to America. He is completely on the Allies side even though he was born in Germany. This book is about the D-Day invasion. Samira is a girl whose mom got captured. She is a young girl and no one takes her seriously. She almost became like a spy. James is a paratrooper who parachuted late at night into the village. Monique is a 13 year old who finds people who need help and tends to them. She actually finds Dee and tends to him. Henry also is a medic who people don't trust because he's black.

I would recommend this book and give it a 4/5 stars.

Im Annabel. This is a book recommendation. This book is by Trenton Lee Stewart. In this third series book, Constance Contraire is beginning to better control her incredible powers, the Whisperer is in safe hands, and everyone is together in the familiar home of Mr. Benedict. Things seem to be going well until a strange, abrupt blackout engulfs the whole of Stonetown. Soon, the children, now faced with yet another danger, must face once more the dangerous Ten Men-known for being able to harm you in ten different ways. However, somethings about the evil males is different: like they are now always a step ahead of the game. Shortly after, they find out how: a poor brainsweeped (given a sort of amnesia using the Whisperer-sort of "sweeping the brain" of memories) woman who shares the same abilities as constance herself. With the Ten Men's new weapon, even more dangerous than their laser pointers with real lasers and their dart-pencils, the four of them must find out how to be.

Two steps ahead of the game.

I like this book, but I don't like how each book gets a bit shorter than the previous one. Come ON man, have some same-length books! Is that too much to ask? Just because of that, I'm deducting a point. Sorry, Trenton Lee Stewart. That's four out of five stars for you and five for some other author I can't remember the name of. Too bad.

Bug wonders why she didn't feel like herself with a new dress and makeup. She doesn't feel like a girl.

Annabel here! First, a warning: This book is 7-12 grade level, and is a... bit.. yeah. So, some mentions of stuffffff..... and curse words. A lot of curse words. And love. There's romance. A little. So, anyway, since that is that, Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe is by Benjamin Alire Saenz and is about a fifteen-year old boy named Aristotle, Ari for short. Their friendship begins at the pool, where Ari can't swim (He can float) and Dante, seemingly perfect Dante offers to teach him to swim. They are different, Ari and Dante. Both Mexican, but Dante's skin is fair. Ari's is darker. Dante loves poetry and art and his parents. Ari loves his parents. That's it. Different, and the same. While Ari never thought Dante would be the person to befriend him, there he was. There he was. Throughout their lives, they encounter arguments and danger and pain. But they always keep going-together.

I rate this book FIVE STARS! It was so good, and made me laugh and cry at the same time. Many parts were horrifically detailed. Fun Fact: This book got FOUR awards!

Hidden, by Helen frost is an amazing realistic fiction book. This book is about two girls, who are definitely unlikely friends. This story starts out with a girl named Wren, who is waiting in a car, until her mother gets back from the grocery store. A guy, named West Monson was a car stealer. When he saw the car Wren was in, he stole it. Along with kidnapping Wren. Wren hid, but Darra found her, and tried to help her survive in this state. Darra gave Wren food, and had a plan to get her out of the situation. But the story doesn't end here. At the time of Wrens kidnapping, the girls were both eight years old, but with the 5 year timeskip, they both appear at the same camp. This is awkward, they don't know what to do. They don't know if the think they should talk about it. What will they do? Will Wren and Darra become friends? Read to find out! I rate this book 5/5 stars. It was very good, and somewhat suspenseful. This book is predictable but the details and way its written makes it interesting. This book in fact is located in our library.

Hi! Annabel here, and today I'm going to be recommending the novel Belly Up by Stuart Gibbs, who I have to say is a super good author. He's written many other books, including the Spy School Series, Funjungle series, and I don't know what it is called but is about a moonbase and is also really good. (This book is a part of the Funjungle series) Carrying on.
Teddy lives at the most spectacular place on earth-at least you might think. The huge zoo/theme park is any kid's paradise, but not for Teddy. He lives with his parents in a crummy trailer park, which is the employee housing for workers at Funjungle. Like a few others who live there, Teddy's mom and dad work for a millionaire called J.J. McCracken, who has a daughter named Summer.
Teddy has always been a sort of troublemaker, playing little, kind-of harmless pranks. However, when Funjungle's MASCOT, Henry the Hippo turns up... BELLY UP... Teddy is confident it wasn't because of natural causes. Teddy is determined to find the true cause and make things right for the really hated hippo, seeking to inform the billionaire's daughter-probably looking like a complete nut to Summer in the process.
I love books by Stuart Gibbs.

Hi! This is Matty, here with a book recommendations of one of my favorite books of all time called the Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. In a country of Panem, to show that the Capitol rules all the districts, something called the hunger games happens every year. Kids are chosen to fight to the death in an arena. 1 kid returns. Katniss Everdeen is sure she won't be picked, and even sure her younger sister, Prim won't be picked. But, on the day of the reaping, Prim is chosen. Katniss bravely volunteers for her. Katniss is going into the hunger games with fellow district 12 tribute Peeta Mellark. I rate this book 5-5 stars because it is very suspenseful-the pressure is very high! Read it!

Kimberly Brubaker Bradley is a great author!
The war is raging on, and Ada and Jamie are still in the hands of Susan. They have moved into a "small" house on the Thorton's property, and Ada's foot looks normal. Best of all, she can wear a shoe on both feet normally. Margaret, Maggie, is still away at boarding school where girls are getting news of missing and dead left and right. When Susan gets the same sickness that killed her best friend, Mrs. Thorton is her new temporary caretaker. While doing so, Ada is finding out many things, including why the lady is so cold to her daughter. With Jonathan fighting in the war and Susan in the hospital, Ada doesn't know if the wonderful life she's had so far with Susan and Jamie will come crashing to the ground.
I rate this book a 4/5 stars, but I always think that the sequels are never as good as the first one.

I'm pretty sure that once, in a recommendation I said something about how usually in book series, the second or third or however many other books there are, are never as good as the first. Well, this does not apply to the hunger games. Oh. I forgot to mention. My name's Annabel. Yeh.
Katniss Everdeen has just won the seventy-fourth Hunger games, and she now lives in Victor's Village, a place of nice houses compared to the others in district twelve. She is no longer herself. She has all the money she could ever need, and there will be no more nights with empty stomachs. But she wonders if that's a good thing. To survive the deadly arena, she played the role of a star-crossed lover along with her fellow tribute: Peeta Mellark. Together, they made it home safe. Now everything is different. Her relationships with friends, and what she was accustomed to. However, even though Katniss and her family are living in new-found luxury, the stunt Katniss pulled inside the arena to get both her and Peeta out alive was risky, and made the Gamemakers a national laughingstock. President Snow as well as the Gamemakers are not dealing with it anymore. Katniss is warned by the president himself to persuade everyone that it was an act of pure love. On top of all that, the third quarter quell, the seventy-fifth hunger games, is coming up. On a Quarter Quell, a card is picked to make the games all that much more exciting. When the card is picked, one thing is for sure. Katniss Everdeen is going back in the arena.
So. This book is amazing. Also, I don't know why but I like descriptions of food. And there's a lot of them. Five stars! Obviously! Also: Fun fact! The Hunger Games is based off of a Greek myth! Cool, right?

It's not often this happens to me. I find a book, read it, and it turns out it's not the first book in the series. However, this book by Chris Colfer was so well written that I basically understood it without reading the first book!
The Snow Queen is defeated. The force of evil that was the icy woman is now gone. Brystal and her fairy friends have saved the world and brought peace to humans and magical beings. However, deep in the shadows, lies a near-ancient organization, ready to tear down the new, peaceful world. Soon, a mysterious lady, Mistress Mara, starts recruiting fairies to join her school of witchcraft. Brystal's attention loving friend, Lucy Goose, (pronounced Goos-ay!!!) finds Brystal ignoring what Lucy thinks would help to enforce the peace between two worlds. Lucy, followed by trouble wherever she goes, finds herself smack in the middle of the woods, finding herself joining the Ravencrest school of witchcraft.
The organization, called the Righteous Brotherhood, are determined to enforce the Righteous Philosophy: Magic should not be a thing, basically, and men are superior, no woman should be able to have education, yaddah yaddah yaddah discrimination. Eurghblech. Also very untrue. They decide to start erasing magic by erasing the main source: Brystal Evergreen herself.
Straight off the bat, I was able to understand this book amazingly. It was great! Also, the cover is so nice. Read the book, take of the book jacket, and you'll understand the different scene that lies underneath. So. 4.5/5 stars.

Here we go, sequel. Annabel here, with the third book from the Hunger Games series.
Katniss Everdeen, in a last, desperate attempt to keep Peeta Mellark alive, tries to destroy the actual arena itself. She wakes up to her best friend, Gale, only to find that what she did has caused District Twelve to be bombed and burned to the ground. While she finds herself underground in district Thirteen, which has been up and running the entire time, away from the capitol, Peeta has been taken. Not by district Thirteen, but the Capitol. Soon, they get him back and go on a mission to infiltrate the Capitol and kill president Snow. Peeta's mind has been hijacked by the capitol and the president. All the love and memories replaced by hate and false things implanted in his head. During the mission, with Peeta half insane around Katniss, she knows that they might not make it out alive.
Although all books are amazing, I have to say that this one is a lot different from the others. 5/5 stars.

Ah, isn't it fun to return to and reread a book series? Especially after you underestimated you reading material needs after sealing away and locking your wonderful amazing boxes of books in a dusty musty storage unit for like three months while your new house was being built and only having access to a pile of Stuart Gibbs mystery novels you thought would satisfy you? And even though they were really good you read them like 123456543456545656787654 times each? Maybe not exactly, but it is exciting to find small but pretty good details you missed before?
This is Wings of Fire: the Dragonet Prophecy by Tui T. Sutherland.
The war has been going on for years. In a world full of dragon tribes ruled by queens, dragons always want to rule. That's exactly what happened when the SandWing (sand dragon, basically) queen, queen Oasis was killed by a puny scavenger. (What dragons call humans.) After her death, her three daughters were left to fight for the throne and title of queen. In their fight for the crown, they created a war and allied themselves with other dragon tribes. The NightWings, a tribe of secrets, "too powerful" to participate in the war, come up with a prophecy that five baby dragons born on a night when all three moons are shining, will one day end the war and choose the next SandWing queen. However, given that the dragonets are so important, they must be kept safe. Clay and his friends have lived under a mountain for six years, their entire lives. When they finally escape their underground prison, who knows what lies in wait for them-and if they'll survive the world they've never known.
I rate this book 3.5/5 stars.

Annabel here! To(night)day, I'll be recommending Spy School Goes South by Stuart Gibbs.
In this book, spy-in-training Ben Ripley and his friend?/mentor/not-so-secret crush go on their sixth mission. After capturing Murray Hill, a SPYDER operative, they try to interrogate him for information on the secretive, evil organization. The thing is: he'll only talk to Ben.
Soon, a mission is organized, Murry supposedly going to lead them without telling them exactly where SPYDER is hiding out. It's risky, but it is also their only chance to take down SPYDER once and for all. Plus, they don't need to do anything but follow Murray to the hideout and contact the proper authority once they find it. The trained spies will do the real dirty work. It seems too easy, which is a pleasant surprise compared to all of their other missions. However, things can never go exactly as planned.
I rate this book 4.5/5 stars. It's a fun, descriptive book with surprising twists and turns. You can never truly know what'll happen next!

But if you've read the whole series, I'd assume that you can read them out of order if you already know the story. In this book by Stuart Gibbs, it starts off with Warren accidentally firing a live round instead of a paint bomb at their enemies. As a desperate try to save countless lives, Ben aims the round away from the other students and at a building, which was supposed to be empty that day. However, since the dimwit principal of the school is never where he should be, he was inside the building. On the toilet. Unharmed. However, the principal, being stupid and all, expels Ben from spy school. Erica tells him that another time someone offers something that will change his life, he should accept it. Soon after, Ben is given a job invitation for SPYDER- an evil organization. Based on what Erica told him, he accepts and can only hope he correctly interpreted Erica's odd message.
I rate this book 5/5 stars, because it was amazing how Stuart Gibbs can describe something so well.

Ah, books. Aren't they the best? Yes. Yes they are.
Today I'm going to recommend the Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett.
Mary Lennox was a disagreeable, sickly child who grew up in India. When the cholera hit, both her mother and father died. She was sent to her uncle's house in the moor, which Mary thinks is just as gloomy and dark as she feels. Soon she learns of a secret garden that belonged to her uncle's wife before she died ten years ago. Mary is quite determined to find the secret garden and all the magic and wonders it beholds. So, one day, when a little red-breasted bird leads her to the key to the garden, she finds a place unlike anything like it-and soon, she starts to thrive and grow just as the roses and heather and lilies do.
I rate this book a 4.5/5 stars.

Hi! This is Matty, and I'd like to recommend The absolute value of Mike, written by Kathryn Erskine. This book is about a boy named Mike, who has a problem-solving disability called discalculia. Because of it, he struggles with math. But that doesn't add up (sorry) to his math genius father's expectations. Which is why when his father is taking a six week job in Romania he sends Mike to his great aunt and uncle named Moo and Poppy. His dad expects his math skills to go through the roof because poppy is making an artesian screw. But when Mike goes there, he finds that there is no artesian screw. Instead there is a hug project that will take the absolute value of Mike to solve. I rate this book 5-5 stars because it shows that kids are not always like their parents, so parents shouldn't put high expectations on their kids.

Annabel here. Today I'm going to recommend Louisiana's Way Home by Kate Dicamillo, who Mrs. Nigro is absolutely crazy about. The cool thing about this book is that it is actually a two hundred twenty-seven page letter to her not-Granny or whoever gets it, just so people can know why and where she is gone.
It all starts at exactly 3:00 am in the middle of the night. Louisiana Elefante's granny, who is cursed with a curse of sundering (to tear apart) that was placed on her head when Louisiana's great-grandfather sawed her great-grandmother in half and didn't put her back together (he was a magician) tells Louisiana to get in the car because they were leaving. Louisiana does not think anything of it, because similar things have happened with Granny, but they have always come back home. Only when Granny crosses the line between Florida and Georgia does Granny finally tell Louisiana they are never going back. But Louisiana's everythings are back in Lister, Florida. Soon, all her Granny's teeth get removed. Then Granny abandons her. At a motel. By herself. With a note. With the truth. And Louisiana's suitcase is being held for ransom because Louisiana couldn't pay the motel bill they were staying at.
I rate this book 5/5 stars, because it was so unique and also how it was written. As a note. As I repeated.

Ever since the dragonets have been "free", they have been exploring the world to learn more about anything, really. Their families, their homes. Now it's Glory's turn. Upon heading to the rainforest, Glory hopes that her tribe isn't the lazy, fruit-eating, lie-in-the-sun all day dragons people say they are. However, the dragonets find out something much more important than how the RainWings act: something is kidnapping, or Rainwings are disappearing from their home... AND THE QUEEN IS TOO LAZY TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT! Glory is determined to save the RainWings from whatever is stalking the rainforest and stealing their tribe members, no matter the cost.
WARNING: SPOILER ALERT DOWN THERE:
I rate this book 4.5/5 stars. The description at the end of the queen challenge, I think, is really good.

Hit the road, Helen by Kate Mcmullan. (Recommendation by Annabel Lau)
Greek myths are a great topic to do anything about. Especially to read. Have you read about the Trojan war? Well, in this myth, there was a woman named Helen. Helen was so beautiful, that everyone who saw her immediately fell in love with her. When she saw Paris of Troy, she ran away from her husband to be with Paris, the handsome rat. And that's how a war for the most beautiful woman on earth became a thing. All Helen's fault. But is it really? In this book series, they are all narrated by Hades, ruler of the Underworld. They are all humorous twists on the greek myths we know today, but still very recognizable.
I rate this book 4.5/5. It was fun to read.

The only bad thing about a long (and I mean LONG) book series is all the recommendations I have to write. And also reading the books in the right order. Annabel here, and today I'll be recommending a book from the Wings of Fire series by Tui T. Sutherland. On a Monday. When it should be a school day...
Tsunami and the rest of the dragonets are headed to the Kingdom of the Sea to find out more about her family. Turns out, she's the lost princess and Webs, the one who stole her egg, got it from the Royal Hatchery! Tsunami's mother, Queen Coral welcomes the princess home with open talons, although it isn't quite the same with her friends. Plus, not everyone accepts Tsunami herself. But despite the queen's heartfelt welcome, something darker lurks in the background. Something sinister has been ruthlessly murdering the queen's heirs, and Tsunami, back at the Kingdom of the Sea, is just another target.
I rate this book 4.5/5 stars. It's fun with all the twists and turns at every corner.

So when Starflight, the NightWing dragonet from the prophecy gets kidnapped by his own tribe of fellow NightWings, he finally gets to see his own world himself. Except it isn't all fun and family reunions, (of COURSE NOT!) and Starfliight has to choose between being brave, or a possible and very probable death.
I rate this book 3/5 stars.

Annabel here! The Brightest Night, by Tui T. Sutherland!
Sunny is possibly the most serious about the Dragonet Prophecy, but nobody takes her seriously. She's always known she was destined to do something great-and her being a Dragonet of Destiny proved that. However, ever since the evil NightWing Morrowseer delivered dream-shattering news, Sunny's endless optimism is wavering and Sunny is loosing hope in her maybe-not-so-important destiny. What Sunny doesn't know, however, is how important and special she really is...
I rate this book 4.5/5 stars. I mean, with her forever-burning scales, it'd be hard not to. Other than one person in all of the world: Clay. So when her former queen threatens Clay's school, (the queen who used her to kill other dragons for her entertainment,) Miss Firescale-burns-throw-a-crocodile-at-my-face-because-I'm-scary sets off to find and kill Queen Scarlet, hoping to finally end what Scarlet has done to all dragons. The only setback on her world-saving-journey-Clay-adore-me plot is a persistent SeaWing called Turtle.
I rate this book 5/5 stars. Their goal: Create the tastiest candy, sweet treat, or sugar-based item they can, and win the contest. The contestants are: Logan, (Son of the owner of the factory, who's father and himself have won the contest before,so lots of pressure) Daisy, an upbeat girl who has more to her than meets the eye, Philip, who's here to win it, and Miles. He is obsessed with the afterlife and stuff. And he speaks his own language. Two goals here: Win, obviously, and avert the theft of the Life is Sweet factory's top secret ingredient-before it's too late... DUN DUN DUNN!!!!
I rate this book 4.5/5 stars. I really liked that when Logan looked up at the clouds, he wouldn't find things like messed-up elephants. Instead, he'll find a monkey riding a tricycle while eating a bar of chocolate. Magical bookshops bring in people from all different places... and time periods. Poppy loves Rhyme and Reason. She's a pro at running it, too. Although her older brother Al is next to run the shop, Poppy knows everything about shopkeeping a magical bookshop. Especially the one main rule of NEVER using the shop's magic for your own personal gain. However, when a close family friend dies fighting in World War II, Al is tempted to bring him back with magic. (Book takes place in 1944, with visitors from the past, present, and future.) With Al persisting with crazy ideas in his head, Poppy, Al, and Jame's father is growing weaker and sicker by the day, suffering from a strange, incurable disease. What Poppy doesn't know is that her brother's plan to bring back dead Karl will bring back something much worse than anyone could ever have imagined... the Dark.
I rate this book 5/5 stars. After the ultramarathon, Dion decides to bring the dog, now named Gobi, home with him.
However, it won't be easy as he hoped. The only problem? Mattie never makes it to the farm. Stuck back in Philadelphia without her mother, Mattie and her grandfather must learn how to survive in their city, now dangerous with disease.
I rate this book 5/5 stars.

In the book, 'Story Thieves' by James Riley the main lesson in this book is 'friends can help you along the way'. This lesson is in both books. For example, in the second book, 'Story Thieves - The Stolen Chapters' Owen saved Bethany from drowning in the room. I also think that Kiel helped in this book, (and the first one) alot. Overall, I rate this book a 4 out of 5. I think this because the second book wasn't AS exciting as the first book, but it was still interesting.

I recommend reading the Unwanteds book series by Lisa McMann. I recommend the books because its about two twins who are the oppsite of each other. One is power hungry and thinks he can do whatever he likes ad the other is forgiving and cares for his friends. These two brother soon come to go against each other in later books and their relationship begins to change. I give this book series 5 stars

From: Danny. I recommend this book because there are a lot of quests/adventures and a lot of magic. For example the main characters Alex and Conner get a birthday present from their grandma. The birthday present is the land of stories book. After a week Alex has been acting weird. One day Alex starts dropping stuff in the book. Then Alex gets sucked into the book. Her Brother Conner realizes why Alex was acting so weird and knew it was because of the book. He rushes home and goes into the book.
