For me, this image that I have chosen represents a stereotype of an elderly person because it’s represents well the mobility problems linked to old age, and helps each other physically to move forward with a cane.
We can guess that their movements are slower because their mobility is reduced by other symptoms related to age. Often we meet them in parks in the hot season.

I've chosen this picture because for me, it illustrates one of stereotypes of older persons. It represents that lots of people believes: all elderly persons are alone and their life is boring. They don't do anything because they don't want or they don't have motivation. Many old people aren't like that.

According to a study 57% of people between 18 and 64 years old believe that as they get older they lose their memory when in reality only 15% after 65 years old lose memory. I am scared about getting older because it would mean that I will have a job, what about if I don’t like it ? Maybe I will be forced to do it because if I don’t I’m homeless, but being unhappy scares me a lot. I am also afraid to be trapped in the classical type of life the society expects us to have, like a wedding than childrens than a home with a husband… I think it’s something really beautiful and even happy, but I don’t want to be part of it.

I think growing old is sad because we become ugly and personally getting old scares me because we are approaching death and I will no longer have the same occupations as now, but maybe there are some positives points but there are today I do not see them. Grow up it is not something that scared me because I think when you are old, you have more experience and you have wisdom. I think when I was an older person, I keep me in shape and do sports because it is important for me and I will fight stereotypes on elderly person. We can show that the age is not a disability.

Ageing scares me, for me getting older means having more responsibilities, i don't like it but we can't stop it from coming. We need to adapt to grow up, we lose some things that we used to be or do when we were younger. Grow up can hurts but sometimes we just need to grow and acquire new encounters and experiences

I think that growing up and getting old is part of life you can not escape and that allows you to learn how to overcome the obstacles of the life you lead. And being able to get out of it grows. One cannot be eternal. Finally, I also think that having a good health and a good hygiene of life is better to face old age.

For me, ageing is the cycle of life, we live, we die .
In life, one acquires the experience of life.
I'm not afraind of getting old because l'll do anything to be happy with wrinkles.

It is quite difficult to me to project me in the future.To be honest, I really don't know how I will behave later.I hope I would be in good health in order not to depend on others.I can't stand the idea of being washed and fed by someone.I hope I have enough money and energy to travel and enjoy life. For me, growing up is the cycle of the life, it happens and there is nothing we can do about it. But honestly, it's scary when you think about it ; growing up, aging, become an adult, become a parent, working...
Life as an adult seems more difficult than that pf a teenager, and if we get older those around us age too. And yet, we all want to age as quickly as possible to feel more important, more mature, to have more responsibilities, to prove that we are capable of being an adult too.

For an elderly person, life is different and quieter. They have more time to do what they want because they are retired and they no longer need to take care of their children because they are adults (for those who have children)

The life on a retirement house these days are boring, sad and can be complicated to live in some residences. They must choose their retirement home well, to be comfortable and in confidence with the staff. Also, they have the same routine every day and they can be alone. But it’s not all negative of course, nowadays they have people who take care of them and also their families who come to visit them.Also, they can make friends in this residence. For the more able-bodied or in good shape, they can take short trips and practice cultural activities in the retirement home or outside. (Ex: cinema, painting...)

For me i don't want to grow up because, first i don't want wrinkles on me its not satisfactory. Second i don't want to have baldness or lose my hair. And thirdly i don't want to lose my teeth. So i want to keep the same energy for dance, run and mostly to go in night club !!!

Some elderly people may enjoy life more than others.Indeed,if they are in good health, if they have money,they can travel, drive and do a lot of things.Specially, when it is not the pandemic.
But, most of old people can't enjoy life, most are sick or poor and stay at home or in a retirement house in font of tv....

I learned during this interview that elderly persons lead a quiet life without much action.. They have a lot of time for them, they don’t have the same stress as young people because they no longer work or are more worried about education.
They love to stay at home, take care of their animals if they have them.
The only time they leave their homes is to walk or go on their appointments.
They love to reunite with their families, especially those in retirement homes
