It seems that currently when we give assessments we are getting basically the same results across our grade level. Could this be because we are all teaching with Math Expressions? Could it be beneficial to try to teach in different ways so that we can actually have conversations about what is actually getting the results?

Currently our "instructional method" is Math Expressions (yes I know that isn't an instructional method but it is used that way) and many teachers feel they are restrained to that. They either don't think they can do things differently or don't feel confident enough to do anything else. Perhaps PD about different instructional practices and how/when to use them effectively would be beneficial. (I can also see this same thing happening with Wonders if we aren't careful).

CFAs should improve our teaching and identify students who are struggling and excelling. It is hard to accept the fact that you might not be the best at teaching everything. We need to be willing to change. In order to make our instruction more effective, do you need a tool or a skill?
