Rap has a direct link with hip-hop because rapping (or MCing) is a musical movement which has its origins in hip-hop.
I chose to represent this movement by this rapper because he is one of the first to have adopted this culture which was new at that time.

Indeed, Grandmaster Flash has a direct link with hip-hop. He practices deejaying (DJing) which is one of the modes of expression of the hip-hop movement.
I chose this artist because in America, he is considered to be one of the pioneers of hip-hop DJing, cutting, scratching and mixing.

During the late 1960's, so 10 years before the creation of hip-hop, he and a group of friends started to "tagging" Philadelphia by writing their nicknames on walls accross city. The movement spread to New York and blossomed into the modern graffiti movement through the various arts of hip hop. 
In hip-hop, graffiti is a movement and has even become an art to express poverty and inequalities felts by the population in poor neighbourhoods. It became a means of expression for them, just like breakdance and rap.

Beatbox born thanks to the rise of hip-hop, in the districts of the Bronx and Harlem in New York, on the east coast of the United States. This birth is correlated with the appearance of the first electronic drum machines, widely used to create the strong rhythms of hip-hop and rap.
I chose Doog E. Like rap and DJing, breakdance is a powerful means of communication. The relationship between music and dance is the product of hip-hop. The break is linked to the advent of break beat which are percussive rythms.
The break is danced mainly on the floor. It includes a vocabulary of footwork and acrobatic figures, the best know and most emblematic movement consists of turning on the head (like the dancer does in the clip of "Hey You").
