From what I could find an important symbol to the Shuswap Tribe is an eagle because they are considered sacred. They also believe that they represent honesty, truth, majesty, strength, courage, wisdom, power and freedom.

Current Reservation

There current location is near their original territory in the Fraser and North and South Thompson River valley. Their population in 1991 was almost 5,000.

Some of there rituals include the first foods ceremony which included prayers, songs, and dances happened before people could eat and harvest the food. The first food gathering was given to an Elder who prayed and offered thanks. Songs and dances of thankfulness, appreciation, and respect were conducted.
