Reading enables them to use their imagination and actually focus on the moral/lesson of the fairy tale. They can use their previous knowledge of archetypes to better understand the story.  Whereas, when viewing the work of fantasy, modern readers mainly focus on the high quality pictures and modernized plot as a source of entertainment.
