For your second example (simile) this is correct, but I don'y believe Liesel is saying that. Also, you have to tell me me what two things are being compared.

For your third example of figurative language ( your metaphor example) cherries and plums are not being described, blood is being described by comparing the size and color to cherries and plums.

Where is Task 3?

I first realized what Memorial Day was about when a close family friend was killed in action by a "roadside IED" in the Middle East. The day that we found this was a very gray day for my family and his. Gray because of the dark feeling spread about.

I choose this song because it compares words, power, and love. The Book Thief relates to this song in a few different ways. Max uses the right set of words to create the story for Liesel, and the musician who wrote this song also choose the right words to make her song sound good. Max's words in his novel had so much power, it made Liesel emotional. That is why this song is relatable to The Book Thief.

This is an example of personification because a sentence can not die.

Simile- "Far too tough, even for Rudy's animal-like choppers." ( Zuzak 155)

This is an example of simile because it uses the word like when comparing her teeth to animals teeth.

Metaphor- "Beneth her shirt, a book was eating her up." (Zuzak 122)

This is a Methphor because it does not use the words like or as.
