A conversation with my black son.

Parents talk about the struggle of how being black and the police dont mix, and how they will never seen as equal to cops. One couple said that there son is going to grow up to be a "Big scary black man". They also talk about how bad police brutality has affected black people, witch is said that they have to be scared to see cops. This connects to Huck because black people in the book were scared to be near cops without white people in the south because they cops would kill them or sell them or turn them in and would be tretan like criminals even thought they were just walking around.

Who can use the N~word.

k

They talk about how music is one of the bigest thing that influences the fact that other people with say the n word and the black man says that he thinks more of white people and the fact they should be above saying that word. This is shown in the book because everyone that was around huck in the south would use the n word and it was ok to say it so they thought but in reality it was a realy negative and derogatory word to be using, but they didn't think that way about the word. Even when the book uses it I Know that they use it as a describing word but I still think that it shouldn't be said in any way shape or form unless you as the writer are black and know were the word comes from and understand how your ansesters were treated and how when they use it they are taking back the word because some white people today will say it and just be like oh I herd it in the song or its in the song so I can say it or some people use it to be rude but no matter if you are saying it to be rude or saying it because it is in a song if you yourself arnt a black person you should not be using the word at all.

A hyspanic man talks about growing up in a latina negbiorhood were they would say the n word then the f word and so on but all the time but there was no one around that told them it wasn't ok to say that and their parents never told them either. But the black girl said she grew up in detrot and she never thought it was o to say and she always herd it but never thought that it was good in some ways or bad she just thought it was never ok. Thisis like when huck realizes that he shoulnt use the work because even thought his society says its ok and now one has told them thats its not is the same as the guy in the video growing up in a latina negbiorhood and saying it and no one told them it was wrong.

Two athletes talk about how refs and other players use it and that there is nothing wrong with using the word because it is the way they talk. They say it is regular used work for them on the field. This is different because in huckfin everyone used it but not n a good way it was in a derogatory way.
