My first impression of the story was that it was very inhumane. They took away peoples individuality which I'm very against. This kind of society I hope we never each because no one would have any substance or personality. Basically everyone is on a leash. The theme that I think the author is trying to convey is if everyone were to be treated equal right down to the looks, no one would be able to live their own life.

This story was very confusing. Its plot was really difficult to understand. It discusses equal rights and tells us about how people are forced to be equal to each other. Those who have an unfair advantage are forced to be equal as others.

This story conveyed a futuristic idea about equal rights. I do agree with equal rights but I do not agree with this concept. This story had excessive equal rights. My group and I decided that making all people ugly and equal by weights and masses will not be our future. We do agree that equal rights will continue to advance but this story may have produced ideas and concepts that are just improbable.

I think that this story was meant to show how inhumanly people in society can treat each other. I think it also in a way tries to show people how we cannot take our freedoms that we have for granted.

In all sincerity, the story was quite poorly written. The plot fluctuated way too much and it was hard to completely understand what the message was trying to convey. However, I understand better what the overall story was about. I did enjoy from the story that it attempted to explain what would happen if equality was met over an extent. In this day and age, society thirsts for equality in race, gender identity, orientation, but in this specific story it explains, what if we went over the line?
