         <description><![CDATA[<div>Examine the relationship between a country's gross national income (GNI) and its level of participation in globalization.<br><br>Intro:<br>-Define globalization<br>- Why is there an uneven participation in globalization? <br>Access to ideas/media freedom<br>Trade opportunities (trading blocs/FDI/presence of TNCs) <br>Spatially, LICs in Sub-Saharan Africa as well as countries in eastern Europe and the Middle East have lowest levels of participation in globalization. <br><br>Point 1: A higher GNI means that the country is actively gaining money from services overseas and has a more flourishing national economy. <br>From a trading perspective: Countries with high GNI likely to have more TNCs that produce things overseas. <br>Example: US (high GNI and a high interdependence on trading goods with countries like China), they are likely to have companies such as Tesco and Macdonalds overseas.<br><br>Point 2: High GNI, however, doesn't necessarily mean engagement with trading blocs<br>Example: Switzerland, Denmark, Norway highest GNI but not in the EU. <br><br>Point 3: High GNI is also not related to social globalization. <br>- The key factor is mainly political, how much you allow the spread of ideas, and the government policies that allow businesses to come in. <br>- Israel, UAE, Kuwait very high GNI but its only because they sell oil to other companies, low social globalization. <br><br><br><br></div>]]></description>
