Some ways I will integrate technology with the standards will be to decide the goal of their learning and pair it with the appropriate technology. For example, students can use technology to research and compare various scales to create a model showing the solar system to scale. Students can also work in groups to design a solution for a global problem such as access to clean water. Other ways to integrate technology with the standards are to utilize the many platforms for interactive labs, collaborative learning, and presentation platforms. Students can be exposed to models and research that is easier to connect with than traditional textbooks. The opportunities for social engagement to discuss phenomena will also be explored.  

Digital and media literacy is the ability to critically consider the source, type, and purpose of the media and platform. It is getting increasingly difficult to discern the difference between fact, opinion, and peer-reviewed research when reading and absorbing material from social media. It is more important than ever, in light of recent current events, for students to objectively determine how to view the material they are reading. Students will be taught how to identify the type of material, and then decide on a course of action to interact with that material. Our goal for both content and technology learning is to create open-minded and inclusive critical thinkers for the future.
