The journalist should report only the truth, he or she needs to check the source of their information, they need to be careful about the point of vue when they break the news. 
The second paragraph: Minimize Harm
When journalists speak about a piece news which has to do with the private life of someone, they need to respect it and have compassion for the person they are speaking about
Third paragraph: Act Independently.
The report of a journalist needs to be very objective. They should accept something, such as a bribe or a promotion,  to change an article.
And the last one: Be accountable and transparent
If one day, a journalist did a mistake, he should take responsibility for it and apologize.

Because the U.S. was adopting a system that was drafting people to fight in vietna and people did not want the government to draft, or force them into the military. Thousand of protesters began holding antiwar demonstrations. Civil rights groups said the government needed to get out of Vietnam. They said we needed people at home. So the vietnam war was one of the most violent anti-war demonstrations happened during the 1968 Democratic convention in chicago. The violence was seen on tv. The protesters shouted,”The whole world is watching!”

So he decided to sue the New York Time to gain compensation.
The Supreme Court of Alabama blamed the New York times and the latter appealed to the US Supreme Court. The court this time stated that the defamation laws could not be used and that the commissioner could not collect damages because the New York Time did not know that his report was false. New York Time did not have to pay anything and won. Th Supreme Court ruling showed that as long as there was no libel and defamation, the first amendement right was protected.

The document is cut in 4 part, the first one talking about "Seeking the truth", saying that sources have to be written, making sure that their only goal is to serve population and not making profit. Their sources have to be checked and if it occurs that their article is wrong, they have to take responsibility.
The second one is about "Minimizing harm" which warn the journalist about form of their text, making sure that nobody gets offended, or at least the less possible. Paying attention to the words they use and tehir public.
In the third one, they talk about the "Independance of the press", saying that they have to avoid any gift and bribe in order to avoid corruption and getting their image dirty.
