SPRITE Paragraph

We have been working to revise our "limiting car use" essays by organizing the information in the 4 articles into the SPRITE categories (social, political, religious, intellectual, technological, economic, and environmental). Then we are combining information across sources into a paragraph, which would be a body paragraph in our essay. Follow the template below to create the paragraph. All paragraphs are due Thursday 8/29

Socially/environmentally/economically/politically there are many advantages to limiting car usage. For example, (POINT make your point in your own words. Might give summary of issue.) EVIDENCE (this is your quote) According to source 1, “dlffdjfghkljgklfdgjklfgjfkdlg” EXPLAIN THIS QUOTE IN A WAY THAT FURTHERS THE ADVANTAGE YOU ARE DISCUSSING. LINK- JUST MAKE SURE YOU’RE MATCHING YOUR ADVANTAGE. Additionally, POINT, EVIDENCE, EXPLANATION/LINK

Example (do not copy this as your own):
Socially there are many advantages to limiting car usage. For example, people report feeling less stressed from driving less. According to Source 1 by Elisabeth Rosenthal, “When I had a car I was always tense. I’m much happier this way.” In Vauban, Germany, the town is essentially car-free. This allows people to ride bikes and walk with their children, instead of listening to loud motors, resulting in less stress. Likewise, people have more opportunities to interact with each other. NOW I WOULD GIVE AN EXAMPLE FROM ANOTHER ARTICLE IN WHICH THERE IS A SOCIAL BENEFIT. ALWAYS FOLLOW THE MODEL: POINT (main claim you're making), EVIDENCE (quote), EXPLANATION (explanation of how that quote shows your point), LINK (make sure your explanation shows your main point).

Hello everyone! I want to start off by saying I’m very sad we aren’t having class in person right now. I know I joke most days about wanting to quit my job, but I really can’t imagine not being your teacher. I love the community we have created in each class and I’m going to miss each of you so much during this time. I’m going to post some additional things on Google Classroom, and on an Instagram account you can follow if that’s more your thing.Instructions for Google Classroom: on your school account (school username @student.okaloosaschools.com) go to classroom.google.com. The class code is pljxaky. The Instagram account is @msoldnettleela. The account is private; request to follow and you’re in. I will not follow you back, but will post throughout the school shutdown and am available to answer messages there. I want to hear from you! Message me on any of the platforms or email me at hailey.oldnettle@okaloosaschools.com. I’m counting down the days until we can see each other again!
