I love his use of right colours which he said is reminiscent of the traditional architecture of Mexico. Barragán stated that is was important to him that spaces are not aggressive, which is why he used low forms and permanently used right angles in his designs.

These designs include bright colour, polka dots, rainbow stripes, optical illusions and typography that pops. His design approach could be considered a tribute to Pop Culture. 

I really admire Zhu's designs and fell in love with the chaos and the colours he uses. It is inspiring hearing him speak about how he approaches designing for clients and how colour schemes come to him so naturally.

It demands attention, but never loses its sense of fun. Growing up she was inspired by her grandmother's crazy fashion and the colours she would wear. I think that she encapsulates the Maximalist movement extremely well.

I'm heavily inspired by this kind of work produced by Walsh as it can be described in one word...FUN.

I created these minimalistic icons through Illustrator, using a combination of the tools available to me (particularly shape, shape building, colour, scissors etc.).

These icons mainly employ two Gestalt principles. Firstly, symmetry can be seen in icons 1 and 6, and this makes icons more memorable and easier to recall. To begin, the map which can be seen in the background is a depiction of where I spent my childhood and early teen years in Kenmore, Brisbane. This is a very special place for me and holds many fond memories of friends and family. I chose to change the colours of this map to include more of an abstract colour scheme of pinks and blues to convey my interest in maximalism and eclectic design styles. The roses surrounding me are there because not only are they beautiful, but they also symbolise the rose garden that I grew up with which manifested my love for flowers and my interest in occasionally using them in my work. I then made use of the image trace tool and was able to use colour to create some shading on my flower to give it more character. I found this to be a really great experiment!
