* Gas masks were given to all British people at the start of World War Two.
* The typical gas mask consists of a tight-fitting facepiece that has filters.
*  authorities gave everyone gas masks so that they would be protected if there is a type of poison gas around them.

The Gas Mask used during the Vietnam War was called the M17 Gas Mask. It was used until the early 1990s.

The M17 Gas Mask contained a voice emitter built-in for easier communication on the battlefield.
