The American Dream means to be self sufficient in whatever you do when you grow up. My own dream was to become a Homeowner and I have achieved that goal through going to college, getting a degree, and never giving up. Many factors play into someone "choosing" their American Dream and for me it was family. Telling me every day to be on top of school and work.  Everyday My parents would tell me the importance of going to school. It All payed off being able to support my children.

MLKJ's Dream was to have equality in a world that severely lacks it. Eventually he somewhat achieved this goal through hard work and protest. He became of a figure and put on a pedestal for what he did for the black community. Its similar to others because he had a dream and made it come true through hard work. Even though there would have been some rough patches he still made it happen. Most peoples dreams vary from family to owning homes. It was to own their own land with a house, like most people in the united states tat is often the dream .however money usually causes a problem and gets in the way .So for the rest of the book they find work at a ranch to pay for a house to live in. By the end of it they were unable to truly live the dream. The author of this article has the same topic mind set as I do. People tend to give up hope in the darkest times and make themselves believe that the dream is dead. Quote from the text :"Some people believe the American Dream is dead and the game is rigged against them." This line of evidence supports my thesis because it it the belief of the game being rigged.  Another quote: "Sometimes that means marching to the beat of your own drum."
