They  included supporters of John Quincy Adams, states rights, federalists, Henry Clay American System, and Anti-Mason . This group supported A national bank, Federally funded transportation and protective tariffs. They opposed growth in executive power. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Andrew Jackson's Democratic- Republicans dropped the word Republican and called themselves the Democrats. The leader was Andrew Jackson.  Their party Symbol was the donkey. Jackson backed the national convection system for nominating presidential candidates to let locals input the political process. </div>]]></description>
