There are four things that affect growth they are water, light, nutrients, and temperature. Most plants and animals live in areas with very specific climate conditions that enable them to thrive. If there are any changes in the climate of an area it can affect the plants and animals living there as well as the makeup of the entire ecosystem.

Something that can affect growth, is not having enough food or water. If the plant/animal doesn't get enough water, it will not grow much and may end up dying. On the other hand, if the plant gets too much water, it will not get any oxygen and will also end up dying. Lastly, if the plant doesn't get any sunlight it cannot survive. Sunlight is what the plant uses to make food and more, so without it it will wither away.

There are a lot of things that can affect growth, for example if there is not enough food for an animal or plant the animal would't have enough energy to even look for food or even try to find a new home without food the animal could even die. A plant also needs food because if a plant doesn't get food it could also die. Even humans need food, if we don't get enough food for our body many things can happen. for example an eating-disorder, without food we can get an eating-disorder and that can do many things to our body. And without food we can die. We wouldn't have enough energy to move around a lot and food gives energy, and growth to our bodies.

Environmental factors can affect the growth of any living thing. If there is or is not enough water or food in an area for plants, animals or humans to live on it will prevent growth or slow growth down. Oxygen and other gasses are also another factor that plays a role in the growth of living organisms.
