Emi got put in a Japannese Interment Camp. Her friend, Laurie, gave her a gold braclet, but at the camp Emi lost it. My group mentioned some quesitions and some are "What happened to the bracelet?", "Why were people put in horse stalls to live?", and "What happened to all the furniture in the house after they left?".

We think the author's point of view was that she didn't like the ideas of the Internment Camps at all. The two main characters are Louise and Dottie.

Some other characters in the book were Nick, Mrs. Y, Joan, Marion, Werner, Dicky, Nancy, and Roxie the dog. Our opinions on the book were that most of us liked the book, and we also thought that if the Japanese were in the camps, then the Germans and Italians should too.

Until a drought and black blizzards came. Therefore they moved to California to start a new beginning. In California they saw rain for the first time in years. Soon later rain fell in Oklahoma like Abigail's father promised.
