The stimulus this week was the view of politics. This was because the way the government ask for help but then do not take the advice we give.

The way the it was also used was that, as young adults we are seen to be young dumb and stupid and therefore we are not as valued as those who are older and have had "more experience". The way we portrayed this was the fact that the song was stripped back and was more a protest song.

The instrumentation was the way string based and gave a relaxed melody and bass and line with the accompaniment of the guitar.

The Strengths and Weaknesses and Response

The way the response came across was mainly lyrical. The lyrics were the starting base of the song. It started with lyrics that were written at 3o'clock (late night thoughts). The way musically it was presented was through the simplicity of the way it was. This was done because it is a representation of the way we are seen to people making decisions, simple. By having a banjo it seemed very different to have it for a political song. This fitted nicely with the idea of sticking out and putting an opinion forward.

Strength wise , the way we bought all the instruments together worked well as they were all stinged. The dropping in and out of them allowed each element to be heard and add different feels altogether. The audience also said that the sing fit the stimulus well and was a good lyrically.

Weaknesses however the audience said that the guitar could have been louder. Levels overall were hard trying not to drown out the banjo with the to electric guitar and bass. The way the mic was used to carry the sound of the banjo helped carry the song. The guitar part was not brilliant overall and could have been better were it not for the sound and being able to keep in time.

I personally feel my part could have been better. This was because it was not brilliant and sounded out of place compared to the other stringed parts. I also struggled to play certain patterns and could play them for the performance but did not have as much practice as I feel necessary. With development this would have been possible to resolve.

The performance and development.

The performance was put across well. However it was not done to the ability that we would have hoped. This was due the time that we had. In the space of time we were unable to complete the song. However in the time we were given the outcome still came across as intended. The performance worked well because of the way we worked together.

The structure was the verse, chorus, verse, chorus, verse. The breakdown parts between each section was to have a stripped back feel of the start of an idea and then build it up to be the overall thought that we are able to have. It was also commented on positively at these points and this was an idea later developed. If we had more time there would be a chance to change things up and switch things around more.

The development from here I think really change the song perspective. From one simple song to a more complex song perhaps with more variation of chords and more time to figure out a more suitable instrumentation.
