The Requiem takes place at the end of the Act two. It represents Willy's funeral. Linda, Biff, Happy, and Charley are here for him. 

Each character has a different verdict on Willy's life. We think Charley, the uncle, gives the best verdict because he supports and defends Willy's choices. He just wanted to calm the situation and stop the tensions between both of Willy's sons. However, Happy thinks that what his father did wasn't in vain. Indeed, for the future, Happy wants to stay in this city in order to take his father's business back. His vision of his future has changed a lot because before the death of his father, Happy wanted to get married and change everything. Actually, he may remake his father life, and mistakes because he want to win for his father .
Moreover, there's a contrast between Biff and Happy's views concerning Willy. As matter of fact, Happy sees Willy as a man with a good dream an aim being the number one man. Happy wants to outperform his father's business. Biff disagrees and thinks that Willy didn't know who he was. 
In addition, Linda doesn't understand Willy's death. She thinks he just needed a low salary to keep living, since they were "clear and free", and everything was perfect. We'd say that Linda thinks her husband died in vain.
Eventually, Miller shows Willy's mediocrity: his own motives of his suicide won't be shared by his loved ones. Each one has their own vision of Willy's suicide: that's why it results in spreading disorder and fragmentation among the persons he cared about. 
To conclude, the Requiem is ironic since it's a " Mass for the repose of the souls of the dead". Just few people came to Willy's funeral and the sounds heard are shouts and cries.

First of all, in this play there are two characters, Willy the salesman and Linda his wife. In the beginning of this act, Willy and Linda have a discussion. During this discussion, many topics are discussed There is the fact that Willy wants to buy two houses but this is impossible for him because of the lack of money. So his wife Linda asks him to ask his boss for a raise if this is possible. In addition, in this opening scene Arthur Miller makes us think of the thoughts Willy undertakes towards his mistress. All these events are in fact a dream or flashbacks. 
Therefore, at the beginning of the scene Willy seems to be in a good mood since he has slept well and Linda has prepared a good breakfast for him. We are also told that Willy would like to move out of the country and would like to start a vegetable garden. As we said earlier, Willy's plan is to buy houses but due to the family's lack of money it is impossible for them to achieve their goals. After that, Linda wanted to mend some stockings but Willy didn't like it  because it reminded him of his mistress because he had bought the same stockings from her. The fact that he rethinks this image hurts him and Willy really regrets having cheated on Linda with another woman. Finally, there is a telephone conversation in which Linda calls one of her sons, Biff. It is true that this telephone conversation reminds us of act 1 because at that moment Willy is thinking back to the good memories he has with his son.

We are going to explain an excerpt of the play untitled "Death of Salesman" (61-66, the node of the story) writen by Arthur Miller in 1949. In this excerpt they are 6 characters.
Death of a Salesman is a social tragedy in which Arthur Miller tells us about the american Dreams. Willy Loman, the protagonist, is a salesman whose disillusionment ends in his suicide. 
Firstly,
Willy gets fired of his work while he wanted to go to boston for the work. However his boss Howard refuses,telling him he has to rest and have a break. Then Howard suggest him to get help by his son but Willy Loman dont want telling it is his role to help them and not the contrary. Nevertheless his wife Linda makes him understand he makes enough effort like his wife says page 65 : "You're doing well enough Willy".Linda opposes to his leaving.
His brother ben tries to provide assistance to him and je provide him a job in Alaska.

Arthur Miller is a playwright in the 20th century, who deals with the American life and consumerism in his play. This is one of the major plays written by him. 
In the act one, at the all beginning, in the salesman's house, a peaceful and pleasurable atmosphere reigns around this house.
Because the stage directions point out a melody is played by a flute, putting the readers in a musical atmosphere, very enjoyable.
Afterwards, a detailed description is given us about the salesman home, by this quote "solid vault of apartment houses around the small, fragile-seeming home", we can deduce this is a tiny house with a fragile appearance. Also by the others stage directions "But no other fixtures are seen", this a not much furnished house, that may be reflect the poorness of the salesman family.
The play is set in an urban environment, what emphasise characters are living in town and the feeling aroused by this, is perhaps this family is stressed by the urban environment, due to the disadvantages of living in town like the loud due to the traffic or peoples. Perhaps, this prepares the audience for what is to come in terms of the plot and the characters, because that's showing a tough life and a stressful environment for characters.
The stage directions of the act one show a contrast between the music and the setting, since the music sets a pleasant surroundings whereas the setting as for its, is quite empty reflecting poverty and stressful life. The music observed by the stage directions "A melody is heard, played upon a flute", leads the readers to believe to a perfect place like an imaginary world in which it reigns peace and joyfulness.

 To begin with, all the play is led by a flute Melody which refers to " an air of dream clings the place" for Arthur Miller. Indeed, the play goes in the direction of the music  and creates a pleasant, dreamy atmosphere. Moreover, it can refer to the theme of the American dream, seen as an ideal that will turn into a nightmare. 
In addition, the play is about the Loman family who lived in America in the 1940's. Besides, soon After the Great Depression, this family is a perfect example of the American dream. Indeed, the presence of the refrigerator and the athletic trophy is important. These items show us that the family is not poor. For instance the refrigerator show us that the family is equipped and that the story takes place at least in the 20th century. Moreover, the Loman family is a rather rich family because the refrigerator and its democratisation was in the 1950's. On the other hand, the story that takes place in the 20th century, quite recent, that the athletic trophy shows a rather athletic  and not unhappy family. Moreover, this family in the 40's, has the money and can afford sports activities. 
Finally, Death of the salesman is played in a particular setting, ie in the house surrounding by the urban environment. Nevertheless,the original idea of Miller has kept in the set when he described the house, was the description of the different part in Willy's mind throughout the house. But on the other hand, the set doesn't really Miller's purpose because it is more implicit. 

To conclude, we think that the set of Miller It is more implicit, less impressive and It is not very understandable to the audience than his original idea.

First of all, in act one, the play starts on a monday evening at the Loman family home in Brooklyn. Willy, a sixty-three-year-old travelling salesman, returns early from a trip, exhausted. His wife, Linda, asks if he has been in a car accident, as he has been in one before, nevertheless, he answers that nothing has happened. Linda asked her employer, Howard Wagner, for a job without traveling to New York City.
 Linda and Willy have two adult sons Biff and Happy, Willy criticized Biff for his manual labour on western farms and horse ranches. Willy says his thirty-four year old son is a lazy bum. As for Happy, thirty-two years old, he is more confident and succesful, although he has a steady job in New York, it doesn’t satisfy him and he still hopes to become a significant leader. Conversly Biff seems, worried and confused, he jumped from job to job after high school, he is disappointed in himself. However, he is considering asking Bill Oliver, a former employer, for a loan to buy a ranch. Happy encourages his brother.
