Miruna Modiga
Coronavirus has affected everyone's lives lately. After 6 months at home, we were greeted in high school with new rules to prevent infection with the virus. Social distancing and wearing a mask are the main rules that must be taken seriously. In groups of no more than 3 people we can go for a walk and wearing a mask is mandatory at all times. The social distance is respected, the courses take place normally, taking care all the time to disinfect ourselves. Our health comes first and everyone needs to take care of it, and the new rules are the right measures to be able to carry out our activities.

The Coronavirus has been nothing but a disaster to our lives, and I believe that everyone can agree with me on this term.
After a sudden pandemic outbreak, we have spent 6 months at home, out of which 3 were part of the summer holiday(which for most of us was suggested by the warm weather and nothing more) and the rest of 3 months of a fusion between online school( God forbid!) and a pandemic leave. So believe me when I say that there is not a single soul laying in my school that didn’t get excited (Just like a child does when waiting for Christmas) at the idea of school opening.
Considering the fact that I am part of a military boarding school, the first thing after saluting the superiors came the sanitary procedure at arriving at the Highschool (temperature, mask, gloves) and my signature on a paper that guarantees my respecting the rules.
The Highschool’s leading has taken serious measures to avoid spreading the disease and they started very early when the idea of school reopening was still uncertain. They started renovating some bedroom buildings and the majority of the classrooms so that everyone has enough room considering the personal space and physical distance, set some plexiglass panels at the canteen and they marked some strict lines which we have to respect hence lest we should encounter other children that are not part of our class. The mask(indoors and outdoors) and physical distancing are the new normal, groups of more than 3 people are forbidden at all costs and daily temperature scanning is mandatory. As a bonus, we even received some tablets to assure that all the students have an electronic device to do research on and help their studies in order to avoid crowding at only one personal computer.
I don’t know about other schools, but I believe that the measures taken in mine are very natural and serious. The leading board has worked very hard to preserve our health for we are the young generation that comes after them, and we, the students, should be very grateful for this.

Coronavirus has affected our lives in many ways. This virus hit the world in december 2019, but after a few months it began to spread throughout the world. As the cases of coronavirus started to show up, many schools and other institutions were closed so as to reduce the increase in the number of cases, but also for the students' safety.
As we were sent home in Match, we had to attend online classes. Learning online isn't so easy when you have to deal with poor signal or bad connection.
In September we came back to school but it was not the same. We are obliged to wear masks. Measures of social-distancing were also taken for the sake of the students. One of the things that really bothers me is the fact that we can no longer play team sports as voleyball, handball and basketball. We managed to adapt quickly to all these changes by supporting each other, as a family.
This is how the Coronavirus affected our lives.

The structure of our society has changed dramatically. Nowadays we don’t have a clearly determined philosophy of what ‘normal’ life means. We live under constant pressure, with ineffective safe measure, from my point of view. Divide and conquer as one could say. People are scared and when they are scared they do mistakes. A good example to sustain this point of view it’s literally history . After the two world conflagrations, the winning powers were overwhelmed by propaganda, fear and saw eachother as enemies. And because of this they made critically mistakes in the life of civilians. And even almost started a new war, but fortunately things cooled down and today we know it as ‘The Cold War’. We should consider new ways to improve our day life, with restrictions beneficial for every single one of us and not restrictive measures that affects our way of percepting life and the way we see the people around us. So as to speak, we should try to live life as we know it until now, considering ways to keep low the infenction with this virus, but I’m deeply against the idea of being alone in a room full of people because that’s not what life means. Life is not about finding ways of how not to die, is about living in the moment and enjoying every single minute of the life with the loved ones and doing the things you love the most, because we don’t have promised tomorrow .

From December 2019 the world has gone through multiple changes and the regular course of life has been altered. We found a new "normal" consisting of social distancing, masks and a variety of strict public health measures.
Apart from those obvious modifications, there have been some subtle ones regarding the relationships between people. After several months of lockdown, we have become closer to our families, but distant to our friends as we couldn't meet them due to the strict rules imposed by the government regarding the isolation at home.
Normal things like hanging out with your big group of friends or eating out have become crazy and we've had to get accustomed to such big changes. Masks are essential now while in the past they were an unusual sight.
As a student, I think the biggest difficulty was to attend online classes. Separated from my friends and confined to my home, I felt helpless and feared the changes that were coming quickly with the pandemic. On top of this were the online classes which made you feel even more atrocious as you saw your classmates and thought "If only you were here with me..."
Now that we are at school, even with the rules of social distancing, I am grateful to be able to talk to my friends and to attend classes physically. In a big class, situated 3 metres apart from each other and wearing masks all the time, we have reunited and I think I speak in the name of all my classmates when I say that this is by far the greatest gift 2020 gave to us.
Other rules imposed by my school to prevent the spread of the virus consist of verifying the temperature of each student every morning, the separation between the study years and the restriction on social gatherings bigger than 3 persons. Everybody takes the rules seriously in order to come back to the normal before the pandemic.

The coronavirus pandemic has taught all of us a lot of things. We can discuss for hours about the critical importance of wearing masks and washing our hands regularly. We can find alternatives for most of the daily tasks: doing the shopping, doing sport, socialising face to face, walking down the streets with your favourite person, learning in a qualified institution and many other activities that we used to consider ordinary.
Since the outbreak of coronavirus in countries like China, France, South Korea, Italy, France and, later, in the rest of all the states, we have changed the majority of all the daily-ordinary tasks. In the past 6 months, we have been figuring out how to learn online (awful experience if you ask me), how to do sport inside, how to socialize behind a screen etc. But we haven't forgotten that hugs are maybe the best cure for loneliness and friends are a must-have when we talk about happiness and strength.
So we waited and waited (stuck in our houses, of course) for something to change the script of the coronavirus horror-story. And it came: a light of hope and commonness, a breath of non-infected fresh air: the start of a new academic year, with phisycal attending.
As far as I know, everyone loved the idea of changing our fate, being capable of living an ordinary student life (including all of distancing and sanitary rules). All I can say now is that I found out that we are strong, the human race is capable of defeating even the SARS-CoV-2.
School year started a month ago, and the rules don't seem as challenging as they seemed before. We are experiencing difficult times, but we are optimistic. With friends by our side, we can defeat anything; the most important thing is not to give up.

"The pandemic has been emotionally devastating for adults, but its impact on teenagers is arguably far greater."

Without having the daily structure of going to school, doing homework and then having some free time, it´s hard for teenagers to get along with this new daily routine. Suddenly they need to schedule their day completely by themselves. After finishing their tasks for school, there is so much time left, they don´t know what to do. Going out isn´t allowed, so they can´t meet up with friends. The only things to do then is sitting alone in their room and do something unproductive, like scrolling through social media or watching Netflix. Not going to school and see students from your grade or your friends, but instead being alone all the time can be really depressing, when it lasts as long as the shutdown did.
Even more affected are the students, who should have been graduating this summer. When the schools were getting closed, nobody knew for how long this should last. They didn´t know it will be their “last day” of school. It got even worse when the schools had to cancel their prom and graduation ceremony. I can´t imagine how shocked the teenagers were, when they heard this. Prom is a final day to celebrate what they achieved and saying good-bye to everyone. One student who is exactly in this situation even said, she feels like “the last four years of hard work have been for nothing”.
The statements of how much the teenagers are really affected by the consequences of the pandemic didn´t come out of nowhere. Students from all over the world were asked how they feel during the current situation and most of them answered with adjectives like frustrated, nervous, disconnected, anxious, upset and nostalgic. Christine L. Carter, a writer from the magazine called Psychology Today explained why the youth feels so bad: “Teenagers and college students have amplified innate, developmental motivations that make them hard to isolate at home. The hormonal changes that come with puberty conspire with adolescent social dynamics to make them highly attuned to social status and peer group.”

In my opinion, everybody is affected in their own ways, but for the generation who is growing up right now suffers from the situation the most. We just have to help each other and get through this pandemic as soon as possible.

I am writing a comment on the subject “The Reality of Covid-19 Is Hitting Teens Especially Hard” written by Christopher null, who wrote the text on June 4th 2020. It's a text about young people and their experiences with corona. The Corona time is a very stressful time for young people and they just spend the whole day in the room. Zoe the little daughter of the writer also said that her school career was in vain and that because of she could not enjoy her final years of school. Many students also find that they miss their school because they don't have the right structure in life , they miss that feeling when they were in school and looking forward to home.A study published that teenagers are frustrated(54%), nervous(54%) and disconnected (40%) because of Corona. The school have online lessons for the students but they find it unnecessary and a waste of the time.I know how the students feel and can only give an advice to the parents. They should be compassionate and listen to the children. They should also ask how they could help them because they feel alone

To be honest I enjoyed the time during the lockdown. Not all of it of course, there were moments where I missed my friends and felt lonely, but all in all that period could be described as one of the best of my life. Suddenly I had more time to do things I like without anyone bothering me. I went outside a lot, did a lot of sport and developed an even closer relationship to my brother. I understand why others struggled with that new situation or still do so, but to me it was a period of joy and advancement. I could make plans and think about many things. Such an extreme situation always touches you in some way and causes things to change. In my case luckily those ones were majorly positive.

Hello, my name is Daniela and I am 17 years old, from Sofia. I want to tell you about how the virus we all already know, called covid-19, has changed my life in recent months. Together with my family we had many plans that we wanted to come true, and one of them is to go around my country Bulgaria, to climb to the "Seven Rila Lakes", and more. I have a dream that only my personal friends and family know. But I'm thinking of sharing it with you, and it's that I want to live in the United States, I want to start a family there, and make a living. When one day my English teacher Diana Ivanova made me happy with this news. She showed me that I can go after my dream and fight for it. I decided to apply, and I was accepted in the first round. She helped me with the assigned tasks, and thanks to her I was able to reach the last round, and it was going to the United States for one school year. But when this virus came out, everything failed. They closed our country, they closed the restaurants, the cinema, the malls. Everything we ever had access to. But that didn't stop me from dreaming that I would leave. I know I will succeed. What I want to tell you with this letter. Even if someone tries to stop you from following your dream, never give it up. You can do it later, but you will. Believe in yourself!!!
For me, COVID affected me really tough. Being at home, staying in lockdown for 2 months was probably the worst time I've ever had in my life. I felt like a prisoner who couldn't come out in the open and do anything. Even at home there were very little activities I could do. Hopefully these times are over and we can live our life, even with COVID being part of it.Martin Novakov, 88th Secondary School, , Sofia, Bulgaria

My life after the appearance of COVID-19 is almost the same as before, the differences are that we wear masks, keep our distance, and we have already switched to online learning. I would like to be allowed to attend school, because online learning is really tough, I can’t see my friends and you are very distracted.
Corona virus changed my life quite a lot. I couldn't go anywhere, I couldn't visit my grandparents and my friends. The only thing I did was to study and wonder what I can do at home. The only useful thing I did was that I read some books. Actually I lost weight because I didn't have appetite.
Gabi Georgieva, 88th Secondary School, Sofia, Bulgaria. In Bulgaria there were not so many infected but there was a fear of the virus. People began to oversupply themselves with food and other things like toilet paper. After the quarantine was released and it was no longer possible to leave Sofia, the people isolated themselves and stayed in their homes for a long time. I was one of those people. I can't say that the quarantine didn't affect me, because I did the same thing every day and I missed going out with friends, going to school, training. Life through quarantine becomes very boring and unpleasant.

Hello, my name is Alexandra from Bulgaria, and I will tell you how my life changed during the quarantine. Everything was amazing until they said on the news that this virus was coming. I was with my family all these 3 months. I'm not complaining, but it wasn't exciting. We sat, we talked, about the future, about the world. The virus, in addition to not allowing me to see my friends, has to some extent taught me that being with my family is a gift that must be valued. Because some people do not have this gift. For me, these 3 months made me more confident and blessed to have a family.

In Bulgaria the virus started in March. Then there was a lockdown in all the country. We must stay at home for 3 months to keep safe from the virus. From March to April I did not leave my home. This quarantine had big effect on me. I didn’t go out as much as I used to go before Covid. I cannot do my usually sport activity to keep good spirit. I have to do it online with my coach. I did not communicate with my friends face to face. We communicated only by games and social media, but it wasn’t the same. I had been annoyed and bored to stay at home for these three months. We studied online, but it was difficult to learn new lessons, because the personal contact with the teacher was not complete. But when it has a big risk for the human health it is better to stay at home and be online. The threat of virus can be overcome when all of us follow the rules to keep safe.

Of course the situation in the world that caused lockdowns to happen is not positive to me, and the longer it went the more concerns I got. Corona kind of changed my mindset in terms of thinking about what better not to do when facing this pandemic. That means that sometimes before an event, I would ask myself whether I should or should not go.
That's the biggest deal for me. Things like doing sports can to some degree be done at home too and you can meet friends online, although that's not the same as in Real Life, but the mindset of always keeping attention is really something new in my life.

How Covid-19 changed my life?By Maria Grachenlieva VII Б At first Covid-19 didn’t really catch my attention. I felt bad for the people who got it, but I just thought it was a virus just like every other one. But not too much time passed when the first cases started to appear in my country. Everyone was scared. Masks started to be worn by everybody. Shops were closed, nothing was opened. Schools were closed and we started online classes. For me, it was strange at first, but after a few weeks I got used to it. For a short period of time everything changed. And just like that we were in quarantine. My family and I were trying really hard to not get the coronavirus – we wore masks and gloves, stayed at home. Soon, I realized that we were going to be in quarantine for a long time. I had a lot of free time. Some of my favorite things to do were watching movies, reading books and cooking with my mom. I am very lucky that me and my family are safe and healthy. Yes, Covid-19 changed my life, but I hope the current situation that we are in to be soon over!

How Covid-19 changed my life!Hi! My name is Adriana and this how covid-19 changed my life. At first, when they put us in quarantine, I thought it was only gonna be for a few weeks, but stores started closing, after that restaurants and all of a sudden everything was closed. You couldn't go out with a mask. Things escalated really quickly and for a few months I couldn't leave my house, I couldn't see my friends and my other family members. Food and things like hand sanitizers, masks, toilet paper and etc started running out of the stores. Everybody was panicking. Online school was really hard to do, because of the fact that I was at my house instead of at my school. It was really hard for me to concentrate.

The Corona virus came out unexpected in my life and that cause some self-isolation with my family, because we were scared of it, that was something new and no information about it was available. That happened in march, right before my birthday. I wasn't happy about it, but with time I got used to it. The though that the world is in danger and all the people bought every singe thing on the shelfs in the supermarkets was frightening. I was trying to protect me and my family, I didn't see my grandparents for 4 months. I was happy and relieved, because of the hope that everything will be alright in the end and my life continues with happiness.
