Sound energy is energy carried by sound waves. Sound waves are longitudinal waves that travel through matter. Sound energy is created when an object vibrates. A vibrating object produces sound, and thus sound energy. If the sound waves are loud enough, they can cause things to break like glass.

Thermal energy is associated with the temperature of an object. There are tiny particles called atoms. These atoms are always vibrating. Sometimes they vibrate at different speeds. The faster they vibrate the higher the temperature will be. A cold object's atoms vibrate much slower than a hot objects. For example, take lava and rocks. The lava's atoms are vibrating so much that it's very hot. A rock, however, is much colder and its atoms vibrate much slower.

Light energy is carried by light. Light usually refers to light that you can see. Visible light is electromagnetic radiation that is visible to the human eye. All kinds of electromagnetic radiation have energy. That's why light energy is also known as radiant energy. Other types of radiant energy include infared light, radio waves, UV light, and x-rays.

Chemical energy is energy stored within the bonds between atoms of matter. It's used to keep atoms bonded, tightly, together. The bonds between atoms in food and fuel store a lot of chemical energy. When a person digests food, the bonds break and the chemical energy is released. Likewise, when fuel like gas is burned the bonds break and the stored chemical energy is released.

This phenomenon is known as static electricity. Electrical energy can also travel from place to place like on a wire. An example of this would be when you plug in your phone. The energy flows in through the wire and charges your phone.

Energy is used on a day-to-day-basis for example: when using our phone, we use both electric energy when turning it on and kinetic energy from our body to move our fingers and use it.

Energy Transfer is energy that changes into different types of energy. For an example, the solar panel takes energy from the sun and then it turns it into Electrical Energy then it will change into other forms. It can also mean the movement of energy like Newton's Cradle. The energy from one ball is transferred through the others until it reaches the other side, and the process repeats itself until the energy is depleted.

Energy Transformations is when a type of energy turns into a different type of energy. For example, when a roller coaster goes down the side of the slope, potential energy which was stored in the roller coaster, gets changed to kinetic energy as the roller coaster goes down the slope. Another example would be when, when plants use photosynthesis. They take radiant energy from the sun and transform it into chemical energy to consume.
