         <description><![CDATA[<div>Hi Everyone,<br><br>While I do love music and I would need some hip hop to accompany me on a desert island, I have chosen to share some of the other essentials things that I would need to take with me.&nbsp;<br><br>First, my daughter. She would brighten up my life so much and we would be able to do many things together to entertain ourselves. So, we would need a basketball (and hopefully, a hoop or court too) so we could be active. We also both like playing soccer so a soccer ball is another must. She's a drummer too, so a drum set would be nice. Finally, she also loves to read all kinds of series including Sherlock Holmes and the Investigators.&nbsp;We would need this books, for sure!</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Hi,everyone!&nbsp;<br>On a deserted island, in order to attain comfort,&nbsp;<br>I might need a computer with internet access and sufficient power. This would allow me to access new information and keep me somewhat connected to society. With a computer, I wouldn't feel lonely either, as I could wake up every morning and listen to my favorite music: K-Pop, English pop songs...&nbsp;<br>The second possibility is that I enjoy drinking cola, bubble tea, and Starbucks coffee. These are the beverages that keep my mind alert and happy every day.<br>Thirdly, I might also want to have a pet of my own, like a little cat or dog, for companionship and interaction.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>A great Ted Talk about how teaching needs to move with the times, not just adding on to what we've always done. So much of learning is utilizing the environment in order to create authentic learning experiences. I think that classrooms organized in these ways (or incorporating these elements) definitely aids learning while contributing to the social-emotional (and physical) well-being, if for in no other way than engaging students in learning that is authentic and interesting to them, they will feel valued and gives them agency over their own learning.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>In this video, the first words that attracted me to the ideas of learning spaces were when the narrator said that they were building "spaces for personal learning." Rather than just having separate spaces dedicated for just one purpose, they were intent on designing flexible shared spaces with many possible uses. Bringing it back to MYP, these places such as "Flex Labs" for art, music or science which would be ideal for IDU uses. Finally, I also noticed the huge "Collaboration" painted on one wall is a great reminder of a key factor of every learning space - providing areas for gathering as well as independent work spaces.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong><em>21st Century Classroom Design<br></em></strong><br></div><div><em>The 21st Century classroom is designed with two key concepts in mind: technology access and student-centered architecture. To the end of providing greater access to technology, the classroom is outfitted with a mounted LCD projector, a document camera and an additional wireless router. The school is also in the process of installing power outlets around the room so that students can charge their personal computing devices during class. In order to create a student-centered environment, the teacher’s desk has been removed and replaced with a podium that can be moved around the room. This is a strategy known as “decentralizing the classroom” and the goals is to remove the traditional teacher’s desk (situated as the center of the class’s attention, much like a television in living room)&nbsp; to allow students to take over in a polycentric layout. Students assume authority at six workstations around the room, each able to seat a team of up to five students; each outfitted with an individual whiteboard for student-to-student instruction. So far this year ISC students have taught each other the causes of World War One, the reasons why Napoleon was able to rise to power and the key historiographic explanations for the Cuban Revolution.</em><br><br></div>]]></description>
