         <description><![CDATA[<div>- Weekly check-in via various platforms, e.g. MS teams, whatsapp<br>- Personal log of who we have checked in with (can be accessed by both students and lecturer)<br>- Send non-coursework-related things to students, e.g. motivational messages, articles, interesting pictures, etc.<br>- Setting of boundaries (to help both the students and ourselves)<br>- Lecturers to find strategies that work for themselves, and for the students that they work with (and to acknowledge that each lecturer might be doing different things with different levels of involvement, and that is OKAY)<br><br></div>]]></description>

Once you find out who are the lone rangers, mentors will try to assimilate them into other groups who can possibly take them in - Reduces peer eval/peer issues.<br><br>2. Have a class chat with mentoring class, to build rapport (sending positive/funny messages, images, gifs) with them. Students manage the group chat.<br><br>3. Find out their strengths and validate their strengths (e.g. ability to rally their peers, leadership roles and skills).<br><br>4. Find out their interests and support (e.g. craftwork, arts, music etc.)<br><br>5. Check-in with them online and offline, empathise with them, "sayang" them. Create a nice vibe in the class.<br><br><br>6. Play ice-breaker games with students (whenever possible, especially during the first few weeks in 1.1) to build rapport and connect with them.</div>]]></description>

MLs to have a process check for tutors for Y1 and Y2 modules [large cohorts]:<br>e.g.&nbsp;<br><br>Step 1: On the day of the submission, tutors to check at 5.01pm, that your students have submitted the right assignments etc<br><br>Step 2: For late submissions, tutors to email the student to remind about the non-submission. CC the ML and advisor in the email.<br><br>Step 3: Can have a 2nd follow up with the student to ask them about the assignment in the same email thread.&nbsp;<br><br>Step 4: XXX....etc</div>]]></description>
