Some options that were listed were to get a job, manage your current budget and to use your grants or other money that has been given to assist in paying off the debt.

I chose that website because CBC is a trustworthy and reliable Canadian news source with valuable information. The information that I found useful was using the grants to assist in paying off the loans. Another thing that I saw but had not thought of was selling valuables to assist in paying off debt.

The website provided some information about how to mange debt including contacting lenders in case you get in trouble. This site also talks about the CARES act (Coronavirus, aid, Relief and Economic Security act) which explains how people can pay off student loans in the pandemic that is currently happening. One of the examples of that being an income driven repayment plan.

What made this site stand out to me was the fact that the site talked about how students are managing to pay off or be able to pay student debt during COVID 19 which is relatable due to the conditions that are happening right now.

Student Debt Repayment
This video focused on the overall effect student debt had on people after they had graduated. This video also broke down a step by step plan to help assist people in the repayment process.

The reason I chose this video was that the people in the video seemed relatable and personable. The one thing that I liked is that they showed what the website looked like and helped figure out a plan to get started. What I did not know was that the grants that are offered to you are not required for you to take them. The other thing that I did not know was that your loan as split into both a provincial and Federal amount.

The video offers suggestions such as paying attention to how much debt is being collected, and it covers the fact that high paying jobs are not guaranteed. They also gave a plan for students who haven’t accumulated any debt yet to think about the schools they are going to go to which can help bring down your debt.

What I did not know about the fact that the government places you on a 9.5year repayment plan but you can make your own plan to pay it off sooner.
