At the exploratory stage, I investigated the causes of low participation – especially in homework checking – through self-reflection, observation and informal conversations with colleagues. My findings highlighted the need to modify my homework tasks and checks by incorporating peer work, managing lesson time effectively, providing constructive feedback, etc. Based on these insights, I developed some strategies to enhance student participation, ensuring better lesson comprehension and preparedness for future classes. By fostering consistent engagement, I aimed to improve the overall effectiveness of lessons, based on both student feedback and external observations.

What can I do in order to solve the problem of getting students involved in the class?

Action Plan:

• to involve parents in their children’s learning process

• to make lessons more visually appealing and interactive.

• to create a fun and engaging classroom environment.

• to help students remember concepts in an enjoyable way.

-Some students were shy and afraid of giving wrong answers.

-If a task was too hard or boring, students lost interest.

-Sometimes, lessons moved too quickly, and students could not understand (50/50).

-They were used to listening rather than actively engaging in lessons.

2. Do My Colleagues and Other Teachers Also Face This Problem?

After talking to other teachers, I realized that many of them had the same challenges.

-Teachers also noticed that young learners often hesitate to speak up.

-Students participate more when they work with a partner or in a small group.

T-eachers who used games, songs, and group activities reported better engagement.

3. How Do My Students Feel About Homework?

From my conversations with students, I learned that:

-Some students mentioned that they need parents’ help to do homework.

-Few students completed homework just because they had to, without much interest.

-Students were more excited when homework included drawing or hands-on tasks.

In conclusion, most of the result depends on the support of parents and their motivation they give to their children, through that it can also assist teachers to conduct effective lessons and eventually succeed.

-Some parents encouraged their children to participate more, which improved their engagement (20%). However, not all parents were actively involved, so the results were mixed.

-Adding songs and games to lessons made students more interested, but it didn’t fully solve the problem. Some students still didn’t participate much.

-When other teachers observed my lessons, they gave me useful advice. This helped me change my strategies and try new ways to engage students.

Overall, while these actions had some positive effects, they didn’t completely fix the issue. The biggest factor in improving student participation was parental support.
