The book is about a poor boy who has no family because his mother dies in childbirth in a Victorian workhouse. The Workhouse owner, Mr Bumble, named the baby Oliver Twist and the book is about his adventures. When he runs away from the workhouse he meets a boy called Dodger who brings him to Fagin’s house. He is an old man. There he meets some other homeless boys and Fagin offers him a place to stay. He teaches him to steal and things go wrong for Oliver from there. There is a really mean character, one of Fagin’s friends, called Bill Sikes and a very kind man called Mr Brownlow. They are the complete opposites of each other and they have a big influence on his life and what eventually happens to him.

I really enjoyed this book because there were lots of unexpected things happened. It was full excitement and suspense. It was very well written for a children’s version of Oliver Twist, a Charles Dickens classic.

I would recommend it because it is suitable and interesting.

Nur Aina Suffiah bt Zunkafali (2AM)

Aimed at native English speaking children, there are many adults who still say this famous book is their favorite. This is part of the national curriculum in many schools around the world, so it’s quite possible this book will also come up in conversation. You can almost guarantee that the majority of native English speakers have read this book at least once.
Muhammad Annuar Luqman bin Mohd Shuhabuddin
2 AT

This book was about a bird who didn't yet know how to fly.

The bird has to decide if it will try to fly, but it was not sure if it wants to. The bird thought, "If I never forever endeavor" then I won't ever learn. On one wing, he worries he might fail and on the other wing he thinks of how he may succeed. He worries that if he tries, he may get lost in the world. That makes him want to stay in his nest where he's safe.

I think this book would help other children to learn that trying new things can be scary, but sometimes when we try, we can find things that make us happy too. And this book will help others know that mistakes are okay and part of learning.

My favorite part is that the bird tried and learned that she could fly. I also liked that I read this book because it gave me a chance to talk to mom about making mistakes and how I don't like making them. Then I learned they are good and part of learning.

Boys and girls who are 3 to 8 years old would like this book because it teaches about trying a new thing and how it's important to get past being scared so you can learn new things.

I give the book 5 stars since I think it's important for other children to learn about courage.

MURSYIEDATUL HUSNA BINTI MAHADI
2 AM

This book is about an old tale in Japan.A farmer has many children, who are all hard-working, except for his youngest, who is small and weak and only interested in drawing pictures of cats. He decides his son is not cut out to be a farmer, and sends him to a temple to study with a priest. The boy spends all his time drawing cats instead of studying. The priest tells him he's better suited to being an artist and should return home. As he sends him on his way, the priest warns the boy: "Avoid large places at night. Keep to the small."

Ashamed of being dismissed, the boy decides not to return to his father's farm. Instead, he travels to another temple in the hopes he can ask for a night's shelter, not realizing all the priests living there have long-ago been driven away by a giant goblin-rat. When the boy arrives, he finds the place deserted and decides to draw cats on the walls. As he begins to feel tired, he remembers the old priest's words and climbs inside a little cabinet to go to sleep.

During the night he hears horrible sounds of screaming and fighting. When morning comes and he finally climbs out, he discovers the corpse of the goblin-rat. As he wonders what could have killed it, he notices that all his cats now have blood on their mouths. He is hailed as a hero for defeating the monster, and grows up to be a famous artist - one who only draws cats.

Engku Alia Sofiya Bt Che Wan Zulqarnaen Shah Indrawan 2 Am

This novel is a magical story that reveals the essence of life, love and loneliness. Due to the simplicity of the prose style, breezy and funny illustrations, vividness of imagination this simple yet insightful story is considered to be one of the greatest literary works of all times.
The narrator of the story is an aviator, who landed in the Sahara Desert in order to repair his plane. He accidently meets the Little Prince, who has been travelling from planet to planet. The small blond boy reveals the thing he has learned throughout his journey. One of the most significant ideas he has acknowledged lies in the secret a fox had told him: “But you must not forget it. You become responsible, forever, for what you have tamed. You are responsible for your rose. . .”
This book is a tale of a young prince who has left his tiny planet and wanted to find the answers for questions that disturbed him and at the same time it discloses the story of a man who has gained knowledge of life nature from a pure child whose voyages and virtuousness have inspired him and brought wisdom. The whole book is permeated with love, fulfillment of expectations and maintenance of those relationships. Saint-Exupery’s satiric touch accurately emphasizes that grown-ups sometimes lack imagination.

Aliah Najwa bt Mohd Sukaimi
2 AQ

What I liked best about this book was how each chapter was told from a different person's perspective. First we meet Lars, a chef who who adores his baby daughter, Eva. Lars' wife abruptly abandons them for another man, forcing him to be a single dad. The next chapter focuses on Eva as a young girl. Eva has inherited her father's gift for cooking, and we watch her grow into her talent. Future narrators are all tangentially linked to Eva, and it was fun seeing the different viewpoints. I especially liked the description of a Lutheran church bake-off, and the story of an unusual pepper-eating contest.I recommend this book to people out there and i give 4 stars for this book!

Munirah Al-Husna 2AT

I truly love reading this book because the characters are funny, and the letters between them are interesting. My favourite part is when Tom put pictures of a band that his sister hates around her room, this made her friends laugh at her. This book is so brilliant. The author is imaginative. It also has lots of doodles. This book also easy to read and has clear writing. I would recommend this book for children and adult.

I liked this book because
this book inspire me on learning how to forgive, with firsthand stories from those who have learned to let go of resentment and find peace. Written with understanding and based on more than twenty in-depth interviews and stories as well as personal reflections from Schwarzenegger Pratt herself, The Gift of Forgiveness is about one of the most difficult challenges in life–learning to forgive. Here, Katherine Schwarzenegger Pratt shows us what we can learn from those who have struggled with forgiveness, some still struggling, and others who have been able to forgive what might seem truly unforgivable. All people have different journeys in forgive and the process–sometimes slow and thorny, sometimes almost instantaneous–by which they learned to forgive and let go.I recommend this book to another people.

Anis Solehah 2 AQ

I have just finished a wonderful book! Love, Ruby Lavender is a realistic fiction book by Deborah Wiles.
Ruby Lavender is a ten year old tombor who lives in Halleluia,Mississippi. Her best friend is her grandmother,Miss Eula Dapplevine. Over one busy summer,Ruby steals chickens,Miss Eula goes to Hawaii, and they both have to deal with the loss of Ruby’s grandfather in a fatal car accident. Ruby’s arch enemy,Melba Jane Latham, also causes trouble. We learn about these events through letters between Ruby and Miss Eula.
I truly loved reading this book. Thr characters are humorous, and the letters between them are interesting. One of my favorite parts was when and how Melba Jane’s hair turns blue. The author keeps you guessing about the accident that killed Ruby’s grandfather and Melba Jane’s father. At the end of the book,I wanted to keep reading to find out what happened to the characters.
I would recommend this book to anyone with a sense of humor and who cares about family. Dont read this book if you dont like to laugh because there are so many funny events. Some of this book is sad,but the sad parts are important to tell. If you want to read about the hilarious adventures of a girl and her chicken, then this is a book for you.

Faranadia Balqis binti Ahmad Tarmidzi
2 Abu Talhah

This book tells the story of a man named Herwin. He was a manof many mouths and he didn't remember his past. He felt it was normal, until he was often dreamed of with various stranger images. Those dreams are a sign that the world is about to end. He meets Aloysius, Lady Bazooka and Dona in a tense time, where the inhabitants of the earth are already uncivilized. The law and tge value of a currenly have been erased after the news of the asteroid that will hit the earth. So, Herwin wants to find his family before doomsday comes and they embark on a journey together. The world was supplied 45 days before it ended up being completely silent. This masterpiece is just as brilliant as the author's previous books. Highly recommended for those who like an adventurous storyline.

Nur Ain Insyirah Bt Ahmad Zamani
2Abu Musa

Matilda is the inspiring story of a child prodigy who has unusual parents that hate her and think she's stupid. Let me tell you, she is ANYTHING but stupid. Matilda stands up to her parents by playing naughty tricks on them, nothing violent, just funny. What you should know before you read this book, there is a tiny bit of violence that is obviously not real to older kids and adults, but could be scary to younger children. The headmistress of Matilda's school hates children also, and sometimes does things like whirl them around by the hair or toss them out a window. This could leave bad impressions on young children, like being scared of their principal or teachers. I love this book and find it inspiring and funny.

Intan Najihah binti Ahmad Sedki
2AD

I have done read the book. The genre of this story is children's fantasy. The book is about
Charlie Bucket, an 11-year-old boy, is very poor and lives in a small house with his parents and four grandparents. One day, Charlie's Grandpa Joe tells him about the legendary and eccentric chocolatier Willy Wonka and all the wonderful sweets and chocolates he made. However, the other chocolatiers sent in spies to steal his secret recipes, leading Wonka to close the factory to outsiders. The next day, the newspaper announces that Wonka is re-opening the factory and has invited five lucky children to come on a tour, if they find a Golden Ticket inside a Wonka Bar. The first four golden tickets are found by four unpleasant children: the gluttonous Augustus Gloop, the spoiled and petulant Veruca Salt, the chewing gum-addicted Violet Beauregarde, and the television-obsessed Mike Teavee. One day, Charlie sees a 50 pence piece (dollar bill in the US version) buried in the snow. At the exact moment, it is revealed that the Japanese ticket was forged, he buys a Wonka Bar and miraculously finds the last golden ticket. The ticket says he can bring one or two family members with him and Charlie's parents decide to allow Grandpa Joe to go with him.

On the day of the tour, Wonka takes the five children and their parents inside the factory, which is a wonderland of confectionery creations that defy logic. They also meet the Oompa-Loompas, a race of small people who help him operate the factory.

During the tour, the four "bad" children give in to their individual vices and are ejected from the tour in darkly comical ways. Augustus gets sucked up the pipe to the Fudge Room after drinking from the Chocolate River, Violet blows up into a giant blueberry after chewing an experimental stick of three-course dinner gum, Veruca is thrown down the garbage chute after trying to capture one of the nut-testing squirrels and is considered a "bad nut," and Mike gets shrunk down to the size of an ant after being sent by Wonkavision. The Oompa-Loompas sing about their specific behavior each time disaster strikes the child.

With only Charlie remaining in the end, Wonka congratulates him for "winning" the factory. Wonka explains that the whole tour was designed to help him secure a good person to serve as an heir to his business, and Charlie was the only child whose inherent goodness allowed him to pass the test. They ride the Great Glass Elevator to Charlie's house; the other four children each go home with a lifetime supply of chocolate, as well as permanent disfigurements from their misbehavior. Wonka then invites Charlie's family to come and live with him in the factory.

So, I want to recommend this book to all my friends.
This book is suitable to who likes fantasy genre and like to eat chocolate.

NAME:ADELYN NURFAHEMA BINTI HARRIE
CLASS:2 ABU QATADAH
DATE:26th NOVEMBER 2020

Recently I've been reading an English book that was a gift from my beloved mother. The title of the book is diary of a wimpy kid double down. This book is written by Jeff Kinney also known as a writer of the international bestseller book edition. Well not gonna lie but his books is quiet entertaining though. Besides that, his books also out for reasons. This types of book is a good starter for beginners or young people that want to improvise their english vocabulary. They will surely love to read this book. Most individuals also found that reading is another alternative way to improvise their vocabulary. Well there's another way, such as vibing to an English song or lyrics. For now, let's focus on reading. For some students reading is a good way to increase their knowledge that's a bit general. Such as reading book about history of their country or others. They also can test their brain by answering some test to see if is worth it or not they been reading and studying for their future. Therefore, people can start gaining more knowledge in third life for brighter future. As we can see from the talk, we knew that reading leads us to some benefits in our life. That's all for now.

Right away i fell in love with the writing! Beauty And The Beast is the book of the film, adapted by Elizabeth Rudnick. The book has so much detail that it felt as I experienced the joy, heartbreak, laughter and sorrow of all the characters. To me, it is without a doubt a magical gateway to a fantasy world. This world is full of beautiful enchantress, a cursed prince who has turned into a beast, the prince ‘s staff who were transformed into talking and moving objects, and a heroine very unique and different from other people. Bella is not the typical fairy tale princess. She is modern, beautiful and intelligent women.

This book is really unforgettable. It has an elegance that gives you a feeling of happiness and love. It can be enjoyed by all members of the family no matter old or young. They were slowly falking in love with each other. As wonderful as it looks one day , Hazel's cancer became worse and she had to go to the hospital. The heartbreaking news is that Hazel is no longer alive and can't be part of Augustus life anymore. Augustus finally accept the fact that Hazel is gone. However he is glad because Hazel's dream finally came true after they met the author of their favourite book.
I really like this book because of the plot twist. The story taught me that not every wonderful stories with wonderful adventures will ends happily.
THE ADVENTURES OF HUCKLEBERRY FINN

I enjoyed The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn. I’ve read better but I’ve read a lot worse. It’s one of those classics it’s sort of an obligation to read. The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn has been adapted for the screen many times. I’m fairly certain I’ve seen at least one version.I’m not usually a fan of a vernacular english style of writing but Twain makes it work.I also think it gave The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn an authentic, period feel and help to create a sense of place as well.I understood every word very well.

I was enchanted by the first section of The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, set in Missouri. Huck is living under the care of two elderly women called Widow Douglas and her sister Miss Watson who are attempting to civilise him and teach him religion. He’s about fourteen and a bit simple-minded. A lot of chapters in this section made me laugh particularly when Huck joins up with Tom Sawyer and his gang of robbers. Their plans to kidnap someone and hold them to ransom were hilarious.

I’ve read a lot of criticism online of The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn citing Twain’s use of the word ‘nigger’ and Jim being characterised as a sort of cartoon buffoon. I can’t agree with the criticism. The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn is written in 1884 and set sometime between 1835 and 1845. The use of the word ‘nigger’ to describe slaves like Jim is probably quite realistic. Huck is no great thinker and is a bit of simpleton. His impression of Jim is realistic.

The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn is a novel of its time. Twain does a good job exploring the themes of racism and identity. The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn is a satirical look at 19th century social climate. I think it’s worth a read if only to get a glimpse of a past that no longer exists.

Nur Dania Batrisyia binti Mohammad Shukri
2 AQ

The Selfish Giant

The book that I want to review entitled The Selfish Giant. It is about a giant that did not give any children play at his garden. He decided to buila a huge and strong wall which is no one could break it. It was Winter while he built the wall. Time passes quickly, day after day and finally Spring arrived except in one place which is in the giant garden. The giant say "I cannot understand why the Spring is so late in coming" and he looked at his cold white garden and say "I hope there will be a change in the weather". But the Spring never came, nor the Summer. Only his garden did not get any fruit from the Autumn. So it was always Winter there.

One day, the giant was lying awake in bed when he heard some lovely music. It sounded so sweet to his ears. He had heard the singing of a melodious bird on that day. He jumped out of the bed and looked up. He saw a most wonderful sight through a little hole in the wall. It was a lovely scene, only in one corner it was still Winter. It was the farthest corner ot the garden, and it was standing a little boy. The small boy was crying because he couldn't reach up the branches of the tree, and he was wandering all round it, crying bitterly. And the giant heart melted as he looked out. So he crept downstairs and opened the front door quite softly, and went out into the garden. When the children saw him, each of them ran away except the little boy. The giant helped the bot to climb up the branches. After that, he went pick up his great axe and knocked down the wall.

After that time the giant never seen that little boy. Day by day, the giant was getting older. He was no longer able to play with the children. He could only saw hem playing at his own garden. One day, while he was dressing up, he rubbed his eyes in wonder, and looked and looked. In teh farthest corner of the garden was a tree quite covered with lovely white blossom. Its branches were all garden, and silver fruit hung down from them, underneath it stood the little boy he had loved.

He ran to the boy and hug him, and the little boy smiled on the giant, and said to him "you let me play once in your garden, today you shall come with me to my garden which is Paradise". And the children ran in that afternoon, they found the Giant lying dead under the tree, all covered with white blossoms.

I suggest you to read this book because this book is a fictional book. This book also interesting and suitable for all ages. This book also contain lots of moral such as don't be a selfish person and learning how to love each other. This book was written by Oscar Wilde.

NURUL FAIDHONAH BINTI ABD RAHMAN
2 ABU MUSA

Last year Nat found herself with nowhere to live. She considered sleeping on the bus and washing in the rain but inevitably ended up on her parents' doorstep. It was only for a month, she assured them, if that.. She repeated this phrase a lot over the next six months, while the housing market stagnated like a spoilt kid's fish tank, and her life followed suit. While her friends pursued normal adult lives, Nat was taking packed lunches to gigs and being treated to lectures on 'Why It's Nice When All The Tins Face Forwards In The Cupboard.' ('So we can see what they all are at a glance!') Nat wouldn't say she and those like her were the real victims of the recession, but it would be nice if you did. Then she would do a tiny, brave smile. A book for anyone who's been forced back to the family nest, parents who can't shake off their adult kids, or anyone who's ever excused themselves from a family gathering for a quick scream into a pile of towels.
Nur Hidayah Binti Hamzah 2 Abu Talhah

The classic tale all children have grown up with, whether it be through one of these books, or through a movie, such as the one produced by Disney.

The story begins with a young girl whose mother passes away. Her father remarries, but his new wife is cruel to her stepdaughter, and the two stepsisters even more so. They take away the girl's pretty clothes and make her clean the house and sleep in the cinders and ashes of the fireplace at night. Thus her name, Cinderella or Aschenputtel. Then, it is announced that there is a grand ball being held at the palace, the prince is looking for a wife. With some magical help the girl is able to go, but at midnight, she must return home before the enchantment wears off. In her haste, she loses a shoe, which the prince then uses to find the woman he has fallen in love with.

Now some of you might be wondering about the Aschenputtel part. Well the tale of Cinderella itself is as old as time. If you look it up on Wikipedia you can find tales from Ancient Greece that are very similar in nature. Charles Perrault is credited with the story we know best. The one where Cinderella is helped by a fairy godmother and she loses a glass slipper as she escapes home. But an interesting bit of trivia about the nature of that shoe. When Perrault wrote the story, the shoe was made of something called "vair", a french word for a type of grey fur from what might be a squirrel. But in french, the word for glass, "verre" is pronounced the same way, and Perrault made the switch from one to the other. Interesting how things work that way!

But back to Aschenputtel. She is the Cinderella of the Brother's Grimm. I always thought they were the original authors of the tale, but having read it, it turns out to be wildly different. There is no fairy godmother, instead there is a magical tree growing above the girl's mother's grave, and the birds that live in the tree help her whenever she is in need. And of course, the tone of the story is much more...well...grim. When the ugly stepsisters couldn't fit their feet into the shoe made of gold (not glass), so one cut off her toe, the other cut off her heel. The prince discovers the deception by noticing the blood flowing out of the shoe (eww). Finally it ends with the sister's having their eyes pecked out by birds. One can see why Disney might have chosen Perrault's version...

As an aside, there are a couple of questions I never did quite understand. Like why did Cinderella's father allow this treatment of his daughter? What kind of wimp couldn't stand up to his wife in this regard? And how much in love could the prince really have been if he couldn't recognize the face of his dream wife, and even more so, confused the ugly sisters for her? Ah well, if fairy tales made sense they would loose some of their magic no?

Though one last comment...Cinderella is a tale of rags to riches, something inspiring for young girls, that even if they are poor or mistreated they may still one day find themselves a handsome prince to marry...but only if you also happen to be the most beautiful girl in the land! Is there ever a fairy tale where the ugly girl gets the prince? I've been reading a lot lately and haven't found one yet, unless she was enchanted and her beauty hidden, or if the prince was being punished for something and has to suffer his wife's uncomely face. Looks like there's not much hope for us average looking girls *sigh*.

Ah, almost forgot the review the books themselves! Well, the first is the most beautiful. The illustrations are stunning and the story follows Perraults version very closely. I have several books in this series and I love them all. The second is based on the Disney movie. As the story itself is short, Disney had to add a few things, like talking mice and the whole 'Bibity-bopity-boo" part, but otherwise the story too is quite accurate. The third is set up such that every day of the year has a short story to read, thus the stories tend to be abridged. Cinderella spanned a couple days so not much was left out. The fourth has 4 other classic tales in it. I don't care for the artwork as much, the eyes can be kind of creepy, but I still have fond memories of it. The second to last is a very recent purchase. The publisher has a large collection of classics, all published in the same small hardcover format. And the very last one, must have belong to perhaps my mother or my elder brother before it came into my hands, I like this edition too but it doesn't belong to as big as set as the other.

And of course I should add that if you want to read the stories yourself, but can't buy a book version, you can find both Perrault's and Grimm's fairy tales on Project Gutenberg.
Nur Farhana Binti Nazli
2 Abu Qatadah

Jules Abbott, the heroine of bestseller Hawkins’s twisty second psychological thriller, vowed never to return to the sleepy English town of Beckford after an incident when she was a teenager drove a wedge between her and her older sister, Nel. But now Nel, a writer and photographer, is the latest in a long string of women found dead in a part of the local river known as the Drowning Pool. As Nel put it, “Beckford is not a suicide spot. Beckford is a place to get rid of troublesome women.” Before Nel’s death, the best friend of her surly 15-year-old daughter, Lena, drowned herself, an act that had a profound effect on both Nel and Lena. Beckford history is dripping with women who’ve thrown themselves—or been pushed?—off the cliffs into the Drowning Pool, and everyone—from the police detective, plagued by his own demons, working the case to the new cop in town with something to prove—knows more than they’re letting on. Hawkins (The Girl on the Train) may be juggling a few too many story lines for comfort, but the payoff packs a satisfying punch.

Diniza Umairah
2 Abu Talhah
