Harvard reference:
Khan, D., Wajid, A., Safdar, G. and Ashraf, M., 2018. EFFECTS OF MOBILE PHONE USAGE ON SOCIAL BEHAVIOURS OF UNIVERSITY STUDENTS: A CASE STUDY OF ISLAMIA UNIVERSITY OF BAHAWALPUR, PAKISTAN. Global Media Journal: Pakistan Edition, 11(1).

Review:
According to Khan et al. (2018), the purpose of this research is to figure out how using mobile phones has changed university students' academic and social habits. Our mobile phones are always with us, like a friend. They help us stay connected to people and have access to information. But sometimes we get too focused on our phones and miss what's happening around us. Today, people can use their mobile phones to do a lot of different things, like call and text people, play games, watch videos, and access the internet. Mobile phones have become very popular and influential in our society. Because of its widespread use, the mobile phone has become the most influential object in society.

Meanwhile, university students are spending a lot of time chatting on Whatsapp and listening to music and radio on their mobile phones. Some students use their phones at night, which can cause sleep problems and other health issues.

Khan et al (2018), stated that Facebook is people's favourite social media platform, followed by Skype. The main problems people face when using social media are unwanted messages. Social media is beneficial for youth in the field of education, but it can also have negative effects, such as promoting unethical pictures and videos, causing religious hatred, and negatively impacting international relations. Social media can also be used to raise political awareness.

Most young people use their mobile phones for many tasks and that their social lives, self-actualization, and communication with family and friends all depend on their mobile phones. The study also found that people are using their phones more and more and that this is causing some social behaviours to change. For example, many students said they now prefer to stay at home and use their mobile phones rather than go out and socialize. Also, people are now able to lie about their location more easily because of mobile phones. Additionally, excessive cell phone usage has decreased physical activities as people now prefer to stay at home and use their phones or play games on them.

Harvard reference:
Selwyn, N., 2007. The use of computer technology in university teaching and learning: a critical perspective. Journal of computer assisted learning, 23(2), pp.83-94.

Review:
Selwyn (2007), stated that computer technologies are often said to be able to improve the way universities teach and learn. Journals about educational technology often feature research about how these technologies can help students learn more quickly, access more information, and collaborate more easily. Universities and higher education institutions around the world are spending a lot of money on technology, like computers and internet connections, to make learning more efficient and convenient. Some of this money is going towards on-campus computer systems, but a lot of it is also going towards new, more advanced virtual learning technologies.

However, many students and faculty don't use computers in their classes very much, even though they're supposed to, because of the idea of the "cyber-campus." Even though new technologies are available to help us learn, This varies a lot from course to course and from institution to institution. Sometimes teachers use computers to do things like take notes or look up information, but these are usually limited. Computer technologies are used in some areas of higher education, but they are not used in the same way everywhere. Some people think this is a problem because students and faculty don't use computer technologies in a way that is as active or sustained as they could.

Moreover, universities and higher education use technology, which is created by private companies. These companies make money by making products that students can buy or lease, by selling software, and by developing software that is used in lectures and virtual learning environments. In addition, the companies make money by selling technology that is used in virtual learning environments, which is a big market.

Meanwhile, in today's world, the university is seen as a key player in producing the types of educated workers that are needed to compete in the global economy. Many governments are pressuring universities to produce graduates who are well-versed in technology and can help drive the economy forward. The government has made it a priority to make sure everyone has the skills to use computers, and this has led to universities teaching computer skills as a subject. However, some people believe that computer skills should be taught as a way to use them, not just as a subject.

Effects of internet use on wellbeing and academic attainment of students starting university. International Journal of Humanities Social Sciences and Education, 7(5), pp.20-34.

Review:
Alheneidi et al. (2020) stated that the size of the internet addiction problem varies from person to person and that it can have both positive and negative effects on an individual's wellbeing, and that spending too much time on the internet can negatively impact a person's psychological wellbeing. Who are addicted to the internet are more likely to be unhappy, have less energy, depressed, anxious, and lonely. People who are addicted to the internet tend to have more symptoms of depression than those who are not addicted. This is because they use the internet to escape from their negative feelings, such as not using the right methods to measure wellbeing and not considering other factors that could affect depression levels. There is a problem with using the internet too much. This is because it can make it hard to socialise with other people and connect with them. This can impact things like family support and make someone feel lonely.

This means that if someone has a personality disorder, they are more likely to become addicted to the internet, but there is no association between internet use and wellbeing when other established predictors are controlled for. Wellbeing and academic performance are related. things that could affect wellbeing, like social support, a positive personality, and exposure to stressors. how well students did in their exams and coursework, and whether internet addiction had anything to do with it. There are associations between internet addiction and wellbeing. This means that if a person is addicted to the internet, it can affect their wellbeing in a negative way.

Harvard reference:
Ahmad, T. and Sheikh, A., 2022. Impact of information and communication technologies (ICT) on student’s learning: a case from university of the Punjab, Pakistan. Digital Library Perspectives, 38(2), pp.205-221.

Review:
Ahmad et al (2022), stated that technology has become a big part of our lives, and it is used for many things like talking to friends, learning, and working. Things like your smartphone, computer, laptop, or the internet are examples of technology. It has changed many aspects of our society, like how we learn and how businesses are run. It has also helped us connect with people all over the world. Universities have a responsibility to make sure that their students have access to technology and know how to use it.

In today's world, information and communication technology (ICT) is seen as both a means and an end for development. This means that ICT can help reduce barriers to education, enhance the skills of teachers and students, and provide opportunities for learning beyond the classroom. However, many local settings struggle to provide basic technological facilities to their students. This means that the integration of ICT has become a prerequisite in the educational and learning processes of students. The availability of these technology resources improves learning as students become less dependent on teachers
.

Meanwhile, the use of technology in the classroom can promote better learning outcomes for students, but only if the technology is used in the right way. Although the use of technology can help students improve their literacy skills, motivation, and organisational skills, many schools lack a clear strategy for using technology in the classroom, which limits its effectiveness.

Moreover, the use of information and communication technology (ICT) has become very common in today’s world, and it can have a positive impact on students’ learning. As a result, it is strongly advised that students learn how to use various communication technologies and that academic institutions place a greater emphasis on developing ICT-based infrastructure and skilled manpower.
