Carmen here, born and raised in Girona, Catalonia, Spain. I teach English as a Foreign Language to teenagers and I love helping them feel more confident using English in real life situations.

I’ve taken part in Erasmus projects before, this picture is in Verona where I was in March with some of my students and I believe these exchanges are a fantastic way to learn from each other and grow as teachers.

I chose it because AI is already part of our students’ lives, and I want them to learn to use it critically and not just for quick answers. I also want to see how it can help us as teachers while keeping our classes meaningful.

In my school, we use professional ChatGPT in our departments to support planning and collaboration. In class, I use AI tools like Gamma for presentations and ChatGPT to help students practise writing and prepare for debates by suggesting possible arguments from the other team. We always review AI’s suggestions together to spot mistakes or bias, so students learn to use AI critically, not just as a shortcut. That said, I feel it’s definitely a challenge in today’s education.

One challenge with using AI in education is ensuring students are honest and responsible when using these tools. I’ve convinced some of my students to use ELSA Speak to improve their pronunciation, but it depends on their willingness since I don’t know how to integrate it directly in class.

I assume that my students use AI much more than I do. While I am sometimes quite critical of how it can interfere with genuine learning and creativity, I am aware of its potential. By the way, I have used AI to create the presentation I will deliver to introduce myself and my place. I wish to integrate AI into my language classes in a constructive way.

Create a biography with historical background about Daniel O’Connell for students

with dyslexia in secondary school. Use ChatGPT to create the story.

You human person will actively present the story along with your presentation and

interact with the chatbot Daniel O’Connell (who must be very handsome!!).

You need to create this very historical character with POE and instruct him to

dialogue with you while you are interviewing him. Use Leonardo.ai for the images you

will create.

Length: 5 minutes

The story must be interactively presented by you and the chatbot O’Connell in form of

a dialogue.

Critical thinking element: What values did he impersonate that could be linked to a

good politician’s persona of current times? Discuss them and find examples of real

people. Choose the 5 most important ones. Use an app to create a profile of an ideal

politician.
